My wife has put Love Actually on and it really is one of the most disturbing films.  Each strand of the story is deeply odd.

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone describe love actually as disturbing - what makes you so uneasy about it?

Mrs Ranter will be on whatever her equivalent of P&B is, posting on the Infuriating Thing Your OH Does thread, this morning.

"Sent that daft b*****d Ranter to Tesco 3 weeks ago to get 16 selection boxes, as they were on special. I've gone to wrap them this morning, and he's bought 8 selection boxes and 8 advent calendars! Dafuq am I to do with 8 advent calendars on 23rd December?

Oops.

I've just stood in awe at the most beautiful (I am assuming) couple I have ever clapped eyes on. I include Brad and Jennifer in this. Mediterranean tan. Long black hair on the both of them.

This was at the bottom of the Hilltown.

Unbelievable. Genuinely two of the most perfect looking people I think ill ever see. And it's in Dundee. Jammy b*****ds.

My wife and I had this strange experience of some weirdo staring at us at the bottom of the Hilltown.

A coincidence?  I think so.

I doubt you'd ever lower yourself to walk near the common folk of Hilltown.

That's hard to believe from your erudite posting style.

Me, on the other hand...

Common people can be erudite.  They can be intelligent, well educated and financially sound and still be common.

That's hard luck, you didn't even get one out of three.

Back at my parents’ house for Christmas and I found this kicking about my old room.

At least we’ve actually qualified for something now so it’s not quite as painful a reminder.

That was the infamous "Cancel it because Di's deid" match.

You went and didn't even have a thought for the People's Princess. For shame! I bet you even drove there in a white Fiat.

Fortunately I was only 4 at the time, so I was unfazed by poor old Di!

Good news for one PnBer.

JET HOME FOR XMAS

Jet ski Romeo released from Isle of Man jail after daredevil trip – but WON’T be spending Christmas with his girlfriend

JET ski Romeo  has been released from jail just in time for Christmas - after serving less than half of his four-week sentence.

The roofer, 28, was all smiles as he was escorted by prison staff to board a boat from the Isle of Man to Heysham, Lancashire, this morning

After fears he would miss Christmas with his children, he arrived at the Sea Terminal just after 8am this morning to begin his journey home to Scotland.

He was seen carrying his backpack which he had taken on his treacherous 25-mile jet ski journey across the Irish Sea on December 11.

But it's understood he didn't get to see Jessica before leaving the island

Not exactly a collectors item but remember the game didnt take place on the date as advertised.  it ended up a Sunday afternoon fixture as Princess Di was getting buried on the Saturday.  I recall a stooshie involving Goram and I think McCoist refusing to play on the saturday (pandering to their loyalist fans)

ETA - just read similar response above....apologies

This looks like it'll be good. Is that the town hall building that's had a succession of developments fall through recently, it was going to be a market at one point?

Yep, that's the one. I'd have much rather that they'd have flattened it, tbh. A proper town square lined with cafés would have been excellent.
