Shodwall cat
If Mckinnons not playing 3 at the back next season then there was no point in Robson staying. Dixon has the flexibility of being able to play left back and centrehalf. If we're going for a smaller squad this season then we'll need to have a few players that can do that.

Bairnardo
Dixon strolled centre half until the edge came in, hopefully he is signed for that role. He isn't Robson going forward but felt he covered our centre halves in his role at left back, at this level he will look like Pele. 2yr contract centre half I'm ok with, left back I'm waryHes a bit of a utility player and the level hes at is more than good enough for the level wer at. The only reservations I have over him footballing wise would be if we bounce back up. Lets just make sure about this season first though... Hes only 32 mind. Its hardly old in this day and age and get the impression he is a bit of a pro. That said, he better check his fucking tongue when theres nae c**t at the first home game because the tea party are still clinging onto their delusions.

We've also seen during the last two years that players can be punted whilst under contract on a regular basis.
Ludo*1
Jordan McGhee any good? Looks a goer.
glasgow_bairn
The love in for McGhee and Robson on here at times was strange. One guy who seemed to be well liked by fans but was poor defensively and did what most competent attacking players with an ounce of pace could do going forward. McGhee, an absolute lightweight defender for someone at 6ft. Bullied by players of all sizes. Imagine him against some bruiser from League 1. Dixon, although he seemed to lag the latter quarter of the season definitely looked comfortable for the first 8-10 games he played for us. I reckon he’ll do the what’s needed well enough this season.

He'll do a job as a utility back up in the championship but to me was too weak as a centrehalf and doesnt have the attacking ability to play fullback. Don't think many Falkirk fans are that bothered about him leaving. Edited June 17, 2019 by Shodwall cat

He is a centre half all day now for me, yep can do left back and at this level would still be a rolls Royce but long term for him is centre half. Water of a ducks back with his comments for me, 32yr old looking for possibly an elite contract backing his employees. If he does it on the park, for me he has, we could do a lot worse 19 minutes ago, Shodwall cat said: He'll do a job as a utility back up in the championship but to me was too weak as a centrehalf and doesnt have the attacking ability to play fullback. Strangely he probably got mom more at full back than he did at centre half. Decent but I won't cry about him going Edited June 17, 2019 by MrDust

Rocco
I actually think the right player has been signed out the 3. Dixon isn't as effective as Robson going, however, he's solid defensively, which if pair that with his ability to play centre half makes him a more sensible signing than Robson and McGhee. Someone has already mentioned it , but there would be no point in signing Robson and McGhee unless we were playing a 352
WestfieldBairn
Robson could only play in a back 5 because he had the cover behind him which allowed him to bomb forward, I’m not fussed about him going. Dixon is definitely better defensively than him. McGhee will be a miss. Scored some superb goals from RB (even though he wasn’t one).

Surely in that scenario Robson would be a fine wing back if we are playing 3 centre halfs. Less defensive responsibility and taking advantage of his ability going forward. I think we will be playing a back 4 next year.

Disappointed to lose McGhee as I think he’d have stood out in a better team but quite happy to see Robson go- nowhere near good enough in defence which is no good for a left back. Except that he's not a left back is he?
Guest
Competent unexciting signings so far (Tidser being the exception). In truth, we were never going to do Rangers or a Livingston Launderers and maintain a wholly championship squad come what may. I reckon the BoD were looking for us to be “competitive” rather than setting us up to steamroller the league. Tidser is the one bit of undoubted quality so far, and we need a few more that are capable of better things than L1. McKinnon knows he is in the last chance saloon as a manager, and he is dealing with a BoD that really aren’t particularly fussed despite their protestations to the contrary. That they set a budget that didn’t give us a starting eleven tells its own story. That they then make a statement saying they have upped the budget so that we can actually have a team on the park is quite amazing. I don’t think anyone is expecting us to have more than we can afford, but what we can afford shouldn’t have a high percentage set aside for the BoD to fritter away covering up their screw ups.
MrDust
Robson would surely be fine at this level at left back in a 4, level upwards probably not tho tbf on him, we have been stinkingly bad since he signed. I still think he wouldn't have stunk out left back in a 4 in league one
Ludo*1
He's confirmed as signing a 2 year deal with us. McGhee that is.
Senor Bairn
I’ll miss Tommy Not so much McGhee, his reputation helped him a lot, he was just as shite as a lot of them last year. Will end up at another championship team and do okay imho.
