Just how shit was this league that they can get promotion?

For the best from our perspective as QP will throw cash at their team next year and Airdrie will surely lose their best players and possibly their manager.

Best result for the club,  QP with Coyle & big budget would have been front runners from the off. Airdrie will see probably many changes, although without question the best footballing team in the division for me.

Airdrie and Dunfermline should be embarrassed to have lost to that Queens Park side over two legs tbh 

As others have said definitely the best result for us as they would doubtless have improved in the summer

I am amazed. By far the least convincing of the three play off teams have gotten out of this league at the first attempt. Sure, Willie Haughey’s money has made it happen, and that might not be there once they simply do not grow as a club as he hoped, but for now, it’s working.

I would think that looking at the Championship sides for next season, there’s going to be a well above average possibility of two clubs being promoted from L1 yet again.

Them displaying more quality than Airdrie, over the 2 legs, confirms the greatest problem for full time players at this level is motivation. McGlynn's the man for that.

Queen’s Park finally got a decent manager in. They were always hard to beat and have experienced players.

Will be interesting to see if we can keep our players. There seems to be a pretty good team spirit with this squad but money talks. League already looking tough with kelty and Dunfermline and assuming you finally get your act together.

Pivotal season upcoming for Falkirk after 3 consecutive seasons of regression. You've laid the blame at two different BODs, 4 different management teams and three squads of players during this spell. Your fans have frequently deflected with attendance sizes and finance (the famous blue pound). However after a sixth place finish this season you'll go into next season with a manager on a poor run of form at his previous club, a large squad of proven duds signed on inflated wages, you'll no longer have the largest attendance in the league, you'll most definitely not have the largest budget. So if next season doesn't pan out do Falkirk fans finally take their reality check?

Dunfermline, based on the fact that your attendance has dropped each year for several years (discussed at length recently and unlikely to change next season with a 6th place finish and coat of living crisis) and they currently have a larger average crowd than you do.

Several of the things mentioned have literally been trotted out by your own fans in the last half dozen pages. [emoji23]

Their average attendance was bigger than yours this season. Sorry, that's just the truth. As your own fans have admitted recently on this thread yours has slipped year on year for the last 3 years (30-40% from a high of over 5k a couple of years ago). That's unlikely to change after an absolute disaster of a campaign. I agree it's presumption, rather than fact that theirs will be bigger next season but it's based on solid evidence. [emoji16]

In the event we are still in the same league as you next season I suspect the gap will be significantly smaller between us both in mid table than that...

Depends on your perception I suppose, I was just going with consecutive seasons where you finished lower in the pyramid as a measuring stick. This would be the 5th in a row, with a fall of 14 places in those 5 years. You would have to go back to the 2015 campaign where there was demonstrable progress placing wise.

You're literally a season away from needing to go PT or hybrid due to the club's horrendous performance and it's knock on effect on the old finances and have a hugely dwindling fanbase. But you will have a bigger budget than Gretna 2.0, who are so cash rich they were paying premier League money in the fourth tier this season [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
