I started going in the mid/late 80s and always wonder if we over exaggerate some of the players from those days (e.g McWilliams) when most of the time we were championship and so many of them are remembered so fondly. Truly top drawer players I think I've seen are Weir, McAllister, Stainrod, Vaulks, Latapy, McGovern, Waddle, Gray, Johnston Guys like Hughes, Parks, Marshall, McQueen, Miller (L), Coyle, May, Stokes not far behind. Another good list would be unsung hero's. Guys like Stevie Fulton, Steve Tosh, Alex Taylor, Kevin James Stokes has to be straight in the best XI surely? More than a goal per game in the premier league.

My mate used to take his Mum and Aunty to all the games, home and away and they were in tears, one of the worst things I’ve witnessed injury wise to a Falkirk player.

Was heart in your mouth stuff as he walked the ball out the box beating 2 - 3 players launching an attack but he always did it.
HopeStreetWalker
One thing that sticks out from the forum listing their all time great teams over the decades was that the Falkirk scouting, contact network consistently picked up gems of players. Either written off by other clubs or out of favour and they did the business for us.

Ranaldo Bairn
The thing about naming old heroes is that they were superb, but often surrounded by, or managed by, dolts. Hence we have never won anything major since 1957.
