Thats something I never thought about, and it could be the only way we get league reconstruction, but we need reconstruction all over Scottish football and not just in the top division. I also dont think that a 14 team league will ever happen. The amount of games just wouldnt add up, you would need at least a 16 team league.

Eh? A 14 team league would result in 36/40 or 38 games, a 16 team team league gives 30?

This is my understanding too. He's got a bucketload of conditions. Essentially Green has declared that it's his baw, and if he doesnae get the team he wants, he's going home. Shit analogy, but he seems to be taking a very hard line (considering the circumstances, that's not at all surprising).

Why would green walk away?, he got rangers for buttons( and a loan from some shyster :D).

When he gets control of the assets it's all profit as far as he's concerned and then that's when we'll see the orcs in uproar.

Please note the following quote in reference to the saga of Neil Lennon's eight match ban. This quote is taken directly from the SFA website:

"We have discussed the matter with Celtic Football Club and they accept that Neil Lennon was guilty of misconduct."

"However, with regard to the timing of the suspension we must accept that if our rules cannot be enforced in a court of law then they cannot be imposed and it is foolish to waste money defending such a point."

"We acknowledge that our rules do need updating and I have proposed to our board that we commission a complete re write of the disciplinary procedures from a legal perspective to address this whole matter."

"Whilst we have an obligation to ensure that our rules can be legally enforced, nevertheless it is important for the future of Scottish football that we do not allow our disciplinary procedures to be used as a costly legal playground."

If rangers got a 1 year suspension from the SFA, wouldn't they simply promote Dundee, and every play off losers an have the 3rd division as a 9 team league for a week and slot rangers into the vacant slot in 12 month time at the bottom of the 3rd?

14 works with a 6/8 split or a more radical 7/7 split. Even number of H/A games too.

a 6/8 or 7/7 split after 26 games, then play each other home and away again? That would give the bottom teams 36 or 38, and the top teams 40 or 38.

But the big issue will be the bottom teams will only get 2 home games against the OF, whereas the top will have 4. I dont think many of the chairmen of the lower end of the SPL would ever agree to the possibility of just 2 OF home games in a season.

Peter Lawwell will be raging if his club's business partners are given a 1 year suspension.

Hopefully, that'll be the most available from next season.:D
