In fairness to Lennon, depiste looking like he was fucked at half-time at Rugby Park, he managed to rally them there and then and they nearly won that game. Then they went on a long winning streak. I'd say he was doing alright.

Bollocks, Heff missed a sitter to gift them a draw. We've been fairly shite since then TBF.

Some more good news from Ibrox :D

Inquiry into Rangers charity over friendly match against AC Milan

'Concerns' have been raised over a friendly match between former players of the Ibrox club and the Italian side.

An inquiry into the Rangers Charity Foundation has been launched after it revealed the crisis-hit club would receive most of its proceeds from a friendly match.

The Ibrox club are hosting a game between former players of both Rangers and AC Milan later this month.

It had originally been organised to raise funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation, which was going to receive 60% of all money gathered by the game on March 30.

The charity, which has donated more than £2.3m to various causes since it was set up in 2002, has reduced the amount it will take from the game to 10%, meaning the majority of the money raised will go to the club, which is currently in administration.

On Tuesday, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator confirmed it had been made aware of "concerns" regarding the game after the change to the benefactors.

A spokesman for the regulator said: "We can confirm that we have an ongoing inquiry into the Rangers Charity Foundation. It would therefore not be appropriate to comment further."

Rangers boss Ally McCoist, who is expected to feature for the Rangers side in the game, previously welcomed the move by the charity foundation.

He said: "It is a tremendous gesture by the Rangers Charity Foundation to forego the majority of the proceeds of the legends match to benefit the club and it is going to be an evening of nostalgia for all the fans, players and supporters."

The AC Milan Foundation is also due to receive a percentage of money raised by the friendly, which will see Brian Laudrup and Paul Gascoigne featuring for the Rangers team, while the Italian team will include the likes of Paolo Maldini and Jean-Pierre Papin.

Connal Cochrane, manager of the charity foundation, added: "The club and the Rangers fans have been tremendous to the foundation over the last ten years and now it is our turn to stand alongside them and step up for Rangers. The Rangers Charity Foundation suggested the club should now benefit from the match and we were delighted that the AC Milan Foundation agreed."

What a disappointment today has been. The way things seemed to be going around lunch time I thought they would have lost half the first team squad by now. The whole issue just seems to be dragging on for ever.

I wonder how big a shafting the non-playing staff are about to take.

If it takes Haudit & Daudit as long to 'negotiate' with them as it does with players, they'll all at least have another three or four weeks wages to look forward to.

Neil Doncaster on Sportsound saying that either Rangers (same company as now or newco) will exist in the SPL or not at all. There is zero chance of them starting life as a newco in the SFL. Chic Young can`t hide his excitement.

Seroiusly, how hard is it to work out how many players it takes to save £250,000 a week, punt them and play reserves or u19s for the rest of the season. We're out of both cups and can't make Europe anyway. What's the actual point in keeping players to give them free transfers in the summer?

Short term pain etc etc.

The one by one system is giving me a strong Dead Poets Society vibe. The boys out in the marble and oak corridor, waiting to hear their fate.

"Awrite Naisy sit down. Big McCullochy's agreed to take the paycut and says Keatings touched his erse too"

"Whit? I thought, Lee'sy, Davisy and myselfy agreed to the opposite"

"Naw. Paycut then aye?"

"Awrite min"

Amazingly Doncaster has just said on Radio Scotland that Rangers will either stay in the SPL or not play anywhere else in Scotland. The SPL Board (not the clubs) will make the decision! (Assuming liquidation).

Ooops. sorry Desert Nomad - hadnt read your post. Fucking disgrace if they stay in the SPL.

BBC website quote says

SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster tells BBC Scotland's Sportsound that if Rangers go into liquidation there is no guarantee that they would be re-admitted into the top league, and that there is no provision for them entering the Scottish Football League.

Now, there is a real reason to boycott. If Rangers are allowed to waltz back in as if nothing has happened, it just undermines Scottish football entirely. What's the point in even trying if all rules and all principles of fair competition are cast aside solely to benefit a big club? If they are liquidated, they are gone, finished. A new club cannot be allowed to jump the 30 teams in the SFL just because they're connected to Rangers. If they want to be back in the league, they start from the Third Division or not at all.

But we all know the outcome, don't we?

Honestly, if Rangers were to disappear and a new club formed then I would rather we started at the bottom and worked back up rather than be handed a bearth in the SPL straight away. It's the only way (if ever) that we'll be seen as anything other than the team that cheated and was then offered a shortcut back in. It would be painful and thousands and thousands would drift away, but it's the only fair way.

I would also think that the teams and towns in the lower divisions would benefit greatly from the numbers of fans that did make the journeys.
