beermonkey
Room - didn't really think it'd be my cup of tea, but i really enjoyed it, 7/10 for me. The survivalist - if you haven't seen it, save yourselves a couple of hours & don't bother, biggest load of shite i've seen in ages. I'll give it a generous 1/10.
young_bairn
Cloverfield Lane. 7/10. Wasted. Few hours while working away. Few tense moments and a few jumps. I thought John Goodman was decent in this. Even without watching the original cloverfield you could watch this just noting the premise of the first film.
MONKMAN
John Wick 8/10 - actually really enjoyed this film. Schindler's List 10/10 - I've seen this film about 20 times and it loses nothing. One of the greatest films of all time, and arguably my favourite.
MikeyVanBasten3
Finally got round to seeing deadpool. The 4th wall being smashed in highly appealed to me. Action scenes were fun......but Reynolds constantly hitting the sinead O'connor insult sent me over the edge. the missus isn't into comic book films but she enjoyed it aswell. 8/10
JustOneCornetto
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas I'll get the accent thing out of the road first, personally I'd have preferred German actors with sub titles but hey ho it's still a very good film. Although it's been out a few years now I somehow managed to avoid the major spoiler but as soon as the scene is set when the German lad meets the young Jewish boy it's pretty easy to guess what's going to happen but even so the ending is powerful and very harrowing to watch. I'll give it 8/10
RussellAnderson
Seconding the Cloverfield 2 love, the ending will be divisive but it doesn't take away from 90% of the film. John Goodman is amazing in it. Eta: solid 7.5/10 Edited March 23, 2016 by RussellAnderson

I'll give it 8/10 I've watched this a few times now. Other than the first occasion, I haven't managed to the end, simply because I can't take watching the last scene again.
bob the tank
I saw Hail, Caesar at the weekend. A real curates egg but still loads better than deadpool. I'll give it a generous 6.5/10
GrahamJags
Saw Anomalisa last night. One of my favourite films I've seen this year. 9/10.

Everyone trooped out in complete silence after the movie. I don't think I've ever witnessed a more powerful ending to a movie. jimmy boo
I've watched this a few times now. Other than the first occasion, I haven't managed to the end, simply because I can't take watching the last scene again. Didn't know anything about this until reading about it on here so watched it last night. Apart from the plummy English accents it was a cracking film. Thought it was going to end differently but very sombre and emotional.
banana
You are talking about The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas aren't you? Are you sure you've seen the film? Yes. Maybe the ol brain has intentionally blocked the ending from my memory.
MONKMAN
Yes. Maybe the ol brain has intentionally blocked the ending from my memory. I don't know how it's possible to forget the ending to that film.
banana
I don't know how it's possible to forget the ending to that film. I have vague memories of the German boy being marched off with the rest for a 'shower' near the end, but not sure what other details there were that added to the heavyness, nor if that scene is the end end or if there were family meltdown scenes afterwards.

Both the kids died. Remember being very underwhelmed when I went to see it after people had hyped the ending up to be the saddest thing ever, surely it was pretty obvious what was coming
sergie's no1 fan
Deadpool. 5/10, after the first 10 minutes I was buying into the hype but it was pretty crap after that. I thought Kick Ass was miles better. Just said on the Batman V Superman thread that the whole comic/super hero films have been done to death now.

Have it in my collection and is one of my favourite films. Like you say there's a certain charm to the film yet tells the same horrible story as Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.
Christophe
Must be in the minority of thinking that TBITSP was pretty soap opera level stuff. Didn't think the story or the acting made it very hard hitting at all, and as suggested above pretty obvious to boot. -
