tongue_tied_danny
Repo Man Cult classic from 1984 starring Emilio Estevez as a young punk who teams up with the legendary Harry Dean Stanton. A bit too offbeat for most people, but I'm not most people and I fucking love it. 9/10
stanton
Silence of The Lambs - I'm not sure how many times I've watched this movie, but it's one I'd never tire of watching . Amazing performance from Anthony Hopkins with superb support from Jodie Foster ,everything about this film is great definitely a classic . 10/10
JustOneCornetto
The Shape Of Water (2017) Finally got round to watching this and thought it was an interesting concept of a fantasy love story set against a 60s Cold War espionage plot, I guess del Toro used this time period to highlight how certain groups of people were marginalised, the main star who was mute, her colleague at work and her friend who was gay. I think this is the sort of film that will stand up to several viewings. 7.5/10 Edited December 28, 2020 by JustOneCornetto
Archie McSquackle
Just watched the always excellent Paddington 2 on BBC1 with my daughter. Great fun from beginning to end credits. You can tell Hugh Grant is in his element throughout.
Ira Gaines
Couple of ones here. The Midnight Sky Aggressively dull stuff here. I've not long watched it already forgotten the vast majority of stuff that happened. 2/10 Death to 2020 Hit and miss stuff here, but it's a lot more hit than miss so credit where it's due. Most of the characters get better as they go on. The real highlight is the "soccer mommy", which is probably the most on-the-nose character in the thing. 8/10

The first half certainly does a decent job of going for what they were looking for. Then it just turns into standard horror shock tactics. And then the first half of the movie is basically thrown out of the window and forgotten about. All in all, it ends up being quite shite. I'm not sure that the first half would have carried across the point that they were trying to make. Which was clearly that WaffenThinMint could be at the other end of any phone line. BE A WEAR.

The speed of the tone shift is pretty jarring as well, which didn't help those matters at all. There's a movie called Trust that David Schwimmer directed which probably does a much better job of telling much the same story, albeit with no horror.

coprolite
Eventually watched Godfather 3. Wish i hadn't. It was ok, entertaining enough but completely unengaging and didn't even have the aesthetics of the other 2 to redeem it. 5/10 Just tried watching The Rock after it getting rave reviews on here. Had to turn off after 25 minutes due to unbelievable shitness. 1/10.

Arch Stanton
Due to it being mentioned on here, last night I watched Meghan is Missing. f**k me, that's 85 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
BFTD
I saw an extended advert for either a new edit, or a remaster, of The Godfather III recently. Lasted several minutes. Not a single shot of Sofia Coppola. Smart move. 44 minutes ago, Arch Stanton said: Due to it being mentioned on here, last night I watched Meghan is Missing. f**k me, that's 85 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Don't blame us; it's not like we had you over a barrel.

The last 15 minutes was brutal, especially that scene. Not a film I'll be rewatching.

BFTD
Will have to give Trust a spin. If we're building a "dangers of the internet" theme, Searching wasn't a bad film. Quite like John Cho.
Wee-Bey
Wonder Woman 84 I actually liked the first one, but this is a genuinely nonsensical film, Gadot is also a terrible actress.

UpInTheAyr
Wonder Woman 84 I actually liked the first one, but this is a genuinely nonsensical film, Gadot is also a terrible actress. After a few days thinking on it I have to agree. Far too long runtime, piss poor CGI, absurd plot points and awful script. Chris Pine was probably the best thing about it and he didn't really serve any purpose being there.
