Bobby Skidmarks
New Jack City Haven't seen it in years, decent cast of Ice T, Wesley Snipes, Mario Van Peebles, Judd Nelson and Chris Rock. Flavour Flav makes an appearance too. Ice T tries to bring down Snipes' drug empire, everyone tries to act cool, theres some Fresh Prince dancing, its so early 90s. 3/10
Central
Went to see Legend and the projector broke 40 mins in so ended up with a food voucher and more than half the film still to see

BFTD
Pleased to say I haven't watched any of the bottom hundred - and purely from the titles,I can't see that changing any time soon. I've seen eleven, as things stand, and without even being aware they were on there. So much work yet to be done. It might be more, but I've seen so many films with "Zombie" in the title that they all just mesh together into a big ball of unconvincing latex makeup. I'd love to see 'The Maize', because it's apparently about a killer field of corn. I loved M. Night Shyamalan's movie about people outrunning killer wind, so I'm thinking this would be right up my alley.

BFTD
I've seen 8 of them. Any recommendations? Birdemic and Manos: The Hands of Fate need to be seen to be believed. Plus, Jurassic Shark used to be one of my son's favourite films. He swore blind it was a sequel to Jurassic Park...bless!
BFTD
Unfriended - group of teens chatting over the internet are roped into a deadly game by a mysterious addition to their group on the anniversary of a friend's death. This was OK. The whole thing is presented as the view of a single character's screen, with plenty of well-known apps and websites being used to further the story. Frankly, it can come across as a bit of a paid ad at times, with plenty of screen time for Skype, Google Chrome, Spotify, Facebook, Chatroulette, etc. Strangely for a found footage film, it would probably have been better to see in the cinema, or possibly a very large TV, as the screen is often filled with text, some of which isn't easy to read. The makers were clearly keen to make the film as authentic as possible, but the sheer amount of video artifacting also gets annoying quickly, and doesn't further the story in any way.The second half also suffers from a particularly poor performance from lead Heather Sossaman, whose hysterical overacting is terribly annoying. Unfortunately, the story doesn't go anywhere surprising, and turns into another I Know What You Did Last Summer style retread with a Paranormal Activity-esque ending that is tired and anticlimactic. Worth a look if you like the genre, but go in with low expectations for best results. Edit: I also got the feeling that this was meant for a much younger audience, strangely, as it feels like the sort of bullshit internet urban legend that my son might be spooked by. Hellbound: Hellraiser 2: poor epilogue to the original film, with copious flashbacks to it and earlier scenes in itself. Kirsty, the survivor from the original film, is brought to an asylum while the police investigate the prior events. Unfortunately, the asylum's head is an occult worshipper compelled to uncover the secrets of the puzzle box. The film just seems like an excuse to re-visit the cenobites without really going anywhere, and treads water for virtually its entire length, starting and ending from unsatisfactory and uninteresting positions. The whole thing is just very dull, and isn't helped by a new character who comes across as a cross between Freddy Krueger and Arnie's Mr Freeze. Think I'm going to work through the whole set; I've only seen 1-3. I get the feeling it's going to be like trawling through the Friday the 13th series, only worse Edited September 20, 2015 by BigFatTabbyDave
deadasdillinger
Straight Outta Compton Fucking loved it. Brilliant film about a brilliant group and a brilliant album. Did chuckle about Cube talking about having a baby on the way in one scene - the actor, O'Shea Jr, was essentially talking about himself! It's spooky how good the casting was throughout, it didn't even look like actors playing parts, more like the actual people in question
Gaz FFC
51st state. Seen this at the cinema when it came out and for a film that is definitely not the greatest, I can't help but watch over and over. A few hilarious moments and a few brilliant characters.

DA Baracus
Saw Everest today (2D obviously). Enjoyable stuff that captured the beauty and danger of the highest mountain on Earth (altitude I mean). Rob should never have died. He should never have let the mailman persuade him to go to the summit. I know it's based on a true story so if that's what actually happened the guy should never have been running a company like that. Harsh maybe as he was portrayed as a sound guy but sentiment has no place in the Death Zone (the air is so thin that your body uses up more oxygen that it can take in, meaning that eventually you run out and die, thus the oxygen cannisters). Scott also had no place running a company like that if he really did push himself like the film portrayed. I can see why folk would want to climb Everest and it must be unbelievably amazing to do it and make all the pain worthwhile, but I don't think it's worth the risk.
Shandon Par
Legend 8.5/10 Missus wants to go and watch again. Some very funny stuff in there. If you took some of the characters from something like Snatch, removed the plot and just let them ham it up for a couple of hours this is what you'd get. Tom Hardy is great in both roles but the insane Ronnie steals the show. I don't get the criticism of it for being shallow or glorifying violence as there's nothing remotely deep or true to reality about it - it's just a proper romp of a movie.
tongue_tied_danny
Legend Very entertaining though possibly half an hour too long. Ronnie Kray is hilarious. 7/10

Not the sentimental late push up the mountain in the book/"real life"(Into Thin Air) written by the journalist who was portrayed. They miss their 2pm turnaround time but it's due (mainly, there are other factors) to all the companies bottlenecking at the Hillary step, rather than further down the mountain as portrayed in the movie. Was quite a bit ago I read it but I'm sure Scott doesn't just die of being an arsehole/Delhi belly. Also Beck actually let's someone worse off get in the helicopter at the end as they can only take one and genuinely believes he's going to die on the mountain only for the helicopter team to risk one more journey and get him out of there too. Great read, going to do a reread after seeing it actually. Edited September 21, 2015 by Christophe -
MONKMAN
Schindlers list - 8.5/10. Was bubbling , was angry , was happy. Such a wonderful film to finish on. Unsure what to start watching now. Currently my favourite film of all time. Amazing from start to finish. Fiennes is superb, as are Neeson and Kingsley.

Obviously with it being a film they will make certain changes for storyline purposes, but interesting to hear what actually happened. Think I'll get the book.
Ira Gaines
Caught the 3D Everest. T'is a bit of a grim watch. Visually spectacular, and it's not bad by any stretch. Not exactly one for people who are looking for a nice feelgood movie though. 7/10
Mr. Brightside
Everest was pretty harrowing stuff tbh. I read that a load of people have said that Anatoly and his actions were fairly misrepresented in the book by Kronkauer (sp)

He does spend a large chunk of the book ripping into him but... he does claim he went ahead of everyone on the descent and was back alone at camp 4 when the storm hit, which is a bit unusual since he was a professional guide. He does say he went back up but he should have been with his clients in the first place. Edited September 21, 2015 by Christophe -
stumigoo
Wedding Crashers was on the other night. Still stands up as a really enjoyable comedy for me, plus you get the bonus of some great Isla Fisher cheb action.
