The first twenty minutes are fantastic, frantic and fun. From then on though, there are just so many small things that, once you start thinking about it that I just couldn't buy. For all the hype, the cast and director I expected so much more. Reveal hidden contents The main character was fun from the start, but I don't know if they were going with some misanthrope, or some Forrest Gump with shades type character. His fun Chris Pratt-lite routine at the start was alright, but it disappeared completely, like that cheeky-chappie pysche just fucked at the first part of adversity, and at no point did I feel like things were not going to work out for him in the end. The female lead has some 'you come to me' eyes about her, but nothing really else going on. I didn't like that Jon Hamm went from a cool don't play by the rules, Heat type character best bud to ridiculous Jason X. Kevin Spacey went from bad guy to good c**t over love? He could have been much more of a struggle but to flip it and kill him off so cheaply (although I did fun the prop funny). Nah, f**k off. Jamie Foxx' character was the c**t's c**t, and one that probably should have been the main antagonist at the end rather going out so early, it just felt so anti-climatic. The soundtrack had a couple of good songs. I expected more from Edgar Wright however with his previous for Scott Pilgrim credit, but this felt like a really shite rip off of trying to be Guardian's of the Galaxy except they shoe horned songs that had no relevance into that stage of plot and weren't even that good. Barry White's song to Jon Hamm's confronting to kill Baby and his bird off? I'm not saying it's not an alright song, but how the f**k does that work? Yeah I just saw and I agree with most of that. It was entertaining in a tongue in cheek way but there were one or two small things that annoyed me. I'd still give it a solid 7/10 though...

You got me at "Tom Hanks and Emma Watson". I love a good cast, even though the social media thing is getting boring since Fincher.
19QOS19
You got me at "Tom Hanks and Emma Watson". I love a good cast... Shame Watson is in it then. Hanks will be his usual excellent self I imagine.

Ex Machina
Went to see The House last night. Absolutely shite. About a couple who start up an illegal casino in order to fund their child's university after her scholarship is cut by a corrupt councillor. Really disappointed with this, I am a big fan of both Jason Mantzoukas and Nick Kroll but even they weren't enough to save this film. Jeremy Renner was also criminally underused. Would not recommend. 4/10

killiepiemuncher
Transformers: The Last Knight... 1/10 for the cars.Utter, utter, utter, utter SHITE. Two and a half hours of my life I'll never get back. Michael Bay should be bludgeoned to death and dumped in a shallow grave.
MSU
I can understand the negative comments about The House and if I'd been in anything other than a good mood when I saw it, I may well have agreed. It's stupid and dumb and I'm in no hurry to see it again but I laughed pretty much all the way through. File away with the likes of Meet the Millers and Central Intelligence.
Christophe
(146-147) Risk 6/10 Doco about Assange, not as insightful as I'd hoped about Wikileaks (although I guess there's not actually really that much to say - it's just a website innit). Basically confirmed my suspicion that Assange is a bit of a massive twat with delusions of grandeur. (cinema) Baby Driver 10/10 Fucking awesome. Amazing cast. Amazing action. Amazing music. Everything fitting together like a fist in yer maw. Style over substance to a degree, but what style! Like many Edgar Wright films, I think that there's actually loads and loads that was missed on first viewing. Jamie Foxx was outSTANDing. I give this a very solid recommendation. Ira Gaines
I'm going to see this at The Electric Cinema in Birmingham on Saturday. Was it on here that I seen Jamie Foxx getting called "the c**t's c**t"? Either way, that intrigues me.
GrahamJags
Despicable Me 3 - 6/10. Enjoyed this, particularly Trey Parker who I never knew was in it until I recognised his voice, so that was a nice surprise. The House - 6/10. Mindless comedy, but some genuinely funny parts. Can see why it's getting panned though, if I wasn't in the mood for a film to just switch off to, then I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. All Eyez On Me - 5/10. Some of the acting is abysmal at times, and its far longer than it needed to be. Felt like I was waiting for him to get shot for ages. Baby Driver - 9/10. Loved it. Kevin Spacey is the fucking boy, Jamie Foxx was excellent as well.

8MileBU
Watched the first two Human Centipede films in the last few nights, had never seen them before but had heard they were absolutely disgusting without hearing the details about what exactly a human centipede was.Think the first one was great and you could believe something like that actually happening, there is also quite a bit left to the imagination and it isn't completely all out there for shock factor. The second one is just absolutely revolting with no proper storyline in it and very little dialogue, just absolutely obscene violence for the sake of it. I have heard about 3 minutes of it got edited out and I assume quite a bit of this included the newborn baby but I hate to think how bad it was considering the stuff they left in. Have only seen the first one but it left me with absolutely no desire to see the second. Totally f**ked up.
Ira Gaines
Black Butterfly Antonio Banderos gets involved in a bit of a tussle with a guy in a diner. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays a drifter that helps him out, and then Banderos picks him up and allows him to stay. Things go from there to become a thriller where Meyers goes a bit mental. It's a movie which clearly thinks it's smarter than it is, but as a dumb thriller, it works surprisingly well. Plenty of hammy stuff, with a couple of "oh fucking come on!!" ridiculous moments towards the end. Despite that, it remains oddly fun, and a cracking way to spend 90 minutes. 7/10

The second one is just madness, the man isn't even a doctor and the victims are anaesthetised using a crowbar FFS! The South Park spoof episode is pretty funny.
