In fairness to Sportsound, Souness' opinion was completely ridiculed tonight with Richard Gordon asking why anyone should care what the level of interest in Scottish Football in England is, backed up by Tom English and the list of clubs who have won trophies since Rangers' demise...then Willie Miller wading in about the Rangers team in Souness time signing players they couldn't afford...Chick Young was squealing like a pig!
Great entertainment.

Factually they should have picked him up on that nonsense about Hillsborough given it happened in April 1989 - nearly 3 years after he arrived at Ibrox.

He was able to compete with English clubs because the EPL was still the old First Division and there wasn't the gulf there is now. f**k all to do with Hillsborough.

Souness is just another of those ex-player/manager types whose memory is fucked and who just opens his mouth and let's his belly rumble, with no attempt to do a bit of research to help his addled brain out.

BBC boycott Ibrox but spend ten minutes watching videos on Twitter and trying to talk about an incident none of them have seen apart from Chick who was there on his season ticket

To be fair, Chick Young was in the studio.

However, he was still pretending not to be watching a live stream despite being able to describe in great detail what happened at the penalty and red card.

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson believes the club's next manager should know the club "inside out".

Ferguson, "not surprised" at Pedro Caixinha's sacking , said football is a "results-driven business".

"I just want somebody who knows the club and the expectations," Ferguson told BBC Scotland.

"I want someone who knows what it's all about to manage Rangers, and can get that hunger back into the team. The next appointment has to be right."

A wee taste of tonights show.

That's just code for "get a big proddy in"

'Rangers men' have been shite managers have they not? See Ally McCoist and Ian Durrant for recent examples. 'Rangers men' like Barry Ferguson drove Paul Le Guen out because he banned Monster Munch.

Guys who had the most success at the dead club in recent(ish) times never played for them. Walter Smith, Dick Advocaat and Alex McLeish never did so.

Warburton and Pedro failed because they were shit and because Sevco are a comcal basket case, not because they weren't 'Rangers men'.

So why would a 'Rangers man' be best? Hopefully of course they do indeed appoint a 'Rangers man' like the incredibly thick Barry Ferguson, because they'll be laughably shite.

Indeed.

McCoist and Greig were the ultimate Rangers men.

Neither were fit to manage anyone else.

Rangers Man might well be the order of the day simply as they  cant fund another big rebuild so soon and  appeasing the peepul for a while might be a good idea...

The bigger problem is the financial gap to Celtic is unbridgeable as things stand and so the poor sap that comes in will be set up for failure...

The biggest problem is that they sacked the Portugese ringer far too early in the season. This means that any staunch 'Rangers man' has fully six months to show just how completely useless he and their entire rabble of a club are before the season ticket renewal forms get sent out.

The cycle of delusion/seethe just about keeping the lights on at Ibrox has hit a  major obstacle.

But didn't you hear? The finances at Sevco are absolutely fine and getting better all the time! Plus rich directors are willing to pump personal cash in.

The man on the radio said it and he's definitely a credible source with absolutely no bias clouding his views
