Have I just woke up and it's really 1319?

You'd want the Brussels crooks over Westminster crooks?

Aye, true independence

It wasn't Brussels who brought in Universal Credit and some American firm to overrule doctors on who gets a sick note. Don't know anyone whose life has been affected adversely by a rule coming out of Brussels or Strasbourg.

To be correct, if we are taking about historical geographical designations, people from Scotland simply cannot be British....

Britain refers to the Southern part of the island. That part that was under Roman hedgemony and was known as the province of Britannia.

Only when the free lands to the North of the wall are included does the island become known as Great Britain.

The Scots then can properly be termed  "the Great British" as opposed to just the British, like all them in the South.

Happy like you to be part of the Great British then

Clutching at straws - get real man.  It would be a disaster for Scotland for a marginal victory for independence.  Society would be badly damaged.  A real strategy would surely be based on producing consistent support of say 60% plus for independence in credible polls and to do that you need to clearly demonstrate why independence is the best option - you need a broad church of support not the Jeremy Corbyn style of narrow fundamentialism.  To coin a phrase you need to build a One Nation approach that gets real buy in and not by hectoring and calling other Scots 'Yoons' etc.
Remember the last referendum - Yes started below 35%.

The campaign hasn't even started yet - I would put my house on the Yes vote increasing as the campaign went into full throttle.

First of all, he's finished.

Second of all, it is. There's nothing a unionist can say that can persuade people like me to ignore their overriding sense of belonging with Scottish nationality.

So what - you am Scottish (and British) - overriding sense of belonging maybe that is just another way of saying proud

No. Firstly I feel zero sense of belonging to a British identity. This is a problem for unionists when there are increasing numbers of people like me.

Secondly a sense of belonging is not the same as a sense of pride. My sense of belonging doesn't come from anything Scots do or don't do as a nation. It's less definable than this. It can't be argued against.

It's less definable and cant be argued against - nebulous would cover it then!

Well certainly not on P&B.
We've had one highly respected poster talking of a Scotland, "flooded with English incomers...holding our nation back" and, "transplanting a vote into Scotland.".
We've had another starting a thread to encourage a provo-equivalent Scottish Republican Army, stating, "Time to pick up arms and fight for our freedom" is what he said.  Who does he want to kill in the name of the Natters?  The English?  Pipe bombs at Ibrox?  Semtex in shopping centres?  A truly outstanding piece of vicious shite yet he's still posting.
It's been a shocking few days for you empty-headed Yessers.

I'm great and I'm a Briton.  So no.

You can obviously self define as a Briton if you choose.

However to be geographically correct, you would then have to forsake your Scots identity.

You see you simply cannot be both.

Take the example of a Canadian.

They are obviously not American.  They would never call themselves American

They are however North American.

"Great" is subjective and completely irrelevant then in the context you have used it....you could equally be a "bellend" and a Briton.

The ones who call me a bore are those who quote me most often.

Still, I have nominees for 3rd or 4th ex wife whereas you're stuck with James McPake and a stadium teetering on the brink of collapse.

51.7% in favour 48.3% against when "too stupid to know" is removed.
I don't care tbh. 50.00001% of the vote will do.

But that's only who favour a referendum, not those who would vote yes

Have you came across a single "i'll vote NO again" demanding another referendum?
I sure haven't.
