"“I would like to know how a call was made to bring a man from Brentford to be the manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world. That wouldn’t happen in any other industry but he made big mistakes."

Much better plucking relatively unknown Portuguese managers from the heights of Qatari football, IMO.

Burns is a Rangers star just like another Rangers star,  Billy King, that was in the news yesterday. That's Hearts player King, 86 games for them, on loan at ICT, 23 games for them, and once on load to Rangers for 12 games. Rangers star though of course.

There's a terrible article in today's online Herald about which Scottish-based players that Rangers should sign to get them up to second in the table. Behind a sign-in wall but if you use incognito mode you can access it.

It's like pub chat in The Louden Tavern FFS.

I honestly think that there are some Rangers fans that think Walter sits brooding in his Batcave, looking up at the Cardigan in it's display case, thinking "Maybe just once more......"

We were almost as bad with John Lambie.

Two defeats in a row? 'Bring back Lambie'.

Still not working for me in incognito mode - fancy posting it in spoiler tags? Cheers.

Aye, we're forever talking about signing players with surnames like "Shaughnessy" down the Louden of an evening.

Rangers need to go back to shopping in Scotland - here are 11 local players who would improve their squad
14 hrs ago / Graeme Macpherson

AS they contemplate yet another summer rebuilding of their squad, Rangers could do a lot worse than look to their immediate surrounds for inspiration. The Ibrox club used to make a virtue of cherry-picking the best of talent from other Scottish sides; players who knew the league, the demands associated with playing for Rangers and who rarely cost the earth.

And yet, it is a market that has been largely ignored of late. Of the 15 players brought to the club this season by former manager Mark Warburton only one – young defender David Bates – was recruited from within Scotland. The exact same number of new faces had arrived in the campaign before and, again, only three were sourced locally: Danny Wilson, Michael O’Halloran and Jason Holt, the latter of whom had spent the second half of the previous season in England.

Just like his predecessor, Pedro Caixinha will lean towards certain markets that he is more familiar with but there are players currently operating under his nose who would almost certainly improve his squad were he able to tempt them to Ibrox in the summer. Here we look at a team of potential signings from Scottish clubs.

GOALKEEPER:

Zander Clark, St Johnstone, 24

DEFENCE:

Callum Paterson, Hearts, 22

Liam Lindsay, Partick Thistle, 21

Darren McGregor, Hibernian, 31

Joe Shaughnessy, St Johnstone, 24

MIDFIELD:

Stephen Mallan, St Mirren, 21

Craig Sibbald, Falkirk, 21

Graeme Shinnie, Aberdeen, 25

ATTACK:

Jason Cummings, Hibernian, 21

Louis Moult, Motherwell, 24

Liam Boyce, Ross County, 26

Minus the blurb about each player

Can't decide which is funnier, Rangers wining the league or Joey Barton as player of the year. I know fans can be blinkered, but FFS, that's shocking

Alex Rae having the cheek to have a go at Mark Warburton's signing policy in today's papers. The same Alex Rae whose signing policy at St Mirren is the main reason we've had such a bad season.

Kenny has outdone himself there.

Celtic to win nothing, Barton player of the year and one look at the league tables for leagues one and two would quickly tell you that kenny has absolutely f**k all idea what he's talking about.

To be fair, Arbroath are top of the league with one match to go.

Hopefully he's their League Two writer.

I can't believe he thought we would win League 1!

Motherwell The need for the Fir Park club to clean the gutters was apparent following the team’s thrashing at the hands of Aberdeen and Dundee respectively. Mark McGhee left successor Stephen Robinson with a team that has no real longevity and seemed to be shaped on a year-by-year basis. Five players of the squad named for Saturday’s defeat to Dundee are facing the exit door as their contracts run down. Starters Craig Samson, Keith Lasley and Scott McDonald have been reliable performers for Motherwell in recent times but Robinson could take the opportunity to blood younger players into the side with all three comfortably into their 30s. Steven Hammell joins that group at the ripe age of 35 but the fullback has a year left on his current contract. Motherwell’s cobbled together side has struggled to compete this season amidst a spate of first team injuries. The team is arguably overly reliant on the goalscoring prowess of Louis Moult and the mercurial talent of Chris Cadden to inject some life. However, if the manager is able to hold on to the pair and retain McDonald and Samson, along with the return of Richard Tait from injury, it would provide the club with a promising foundation to build upon. Admittedly, Robinson’s relative inexperience in management and lack of success at Oldham Athletic provides no guarantee that a significant influx of new players would produce improved results next season, and if the team get relegated the rebuild could prove an overhaul rather than a few minor tweaks.

Has this guy even bothered to do any research?
