Also 61.2% pro independence, the people have spoken While it’s encouraging to see pro-independence parties gain significant ground over the unionists I wouldnt be pinning all my hopes on a by-election with a turnout of 30% While 30% is a good turnout for a by-election the loss of ground by Labour and the Tory’s could be down to the apathy from the latest Brexit fiasco with the leave voters of both parties being pissed off Having said all that though, a gain is a gain and hopefully one step closer to an independent free Scotland

Perhaps Labour will lower themselves to appeal to the middle classes as well, instead of wasting their time chasing after the eton vote. Wouldn't count on it though.

John Lambies Doos
So it looks like the brexit party will cigar the Peterborough by election today. Seems strange that Farage didn't stand in this one and try influence from Parliament?
Granny Danger
The ONLY positive think about a Brexit Party win here is that Corbyn will be under further pressure. More and more political commentators doubling down on his hypocrisy of advocating ‘Party sovereignty’ for decades then abandoning it when he becomes party leader.

The downside being that he'll take it as a cue to go hard Brexit.
welshbairn
Relieved to see Labour win, Andrew Neil was an absolute c**t to everyone tonight, especially Labour people. Getting it out of his system before his show closes soon and he's stuck on twitter.
Tutankhamen
Tory vote held up well in Peterborough especially now Theresa Mayhem has called it quits which in turn blew the Brexit Party's chances away of winning the Peterborough by-election. If the Tories follow through with Brexit i doubt we'll ever hear of the Brexit Party or Farage ever again. Ukip got 400 votes.
