Grief porn everywhere.

I'm sure if you're the sort to trawl all the shite on social media you'll find masturbatory levels of grief. Most folk who enjoyed his music will just say so then move on.

Sad news, Bowie was my dad's favourite singer so I grew up listening to his music. Gutted I never got to see him live.

Yeah. I'm sad about it for similar reasons.

David Bowie, David Byrne, Tom Waits and Neil Young are kind of an elite group for me. I've only seen Neil Young of those. Too late alas, to see Bowie, and I should probably try a bit harder to see the other two.

Grief porn everywhere.

Indeed there is, but equally there's a lot of contrariness which is equally grating.

Post your favourite song, tell your friends that you feel a bit sad, and move along. Or say nothing at all.

The "grief porn" is absolute cringe and mostly from wannabe hipsters who are in their 20's and probably know about 3 Bowie songs.

One video doing the rounds of a place in Brixton where there are people dancing to his song "lets dance" followed by a constant love in as if its some sort of monumental occurrence that the people in Brixton are acting lively for once. Pathetic.

Caught in the middle of the act of waving, or so he said. Was just on fab swingers there, there's a c**t posted, "the stars look very different today".

Now that's bad

He was a bit fucked up at that point and spent too much time thinking about Nietschze/facism. This was just before he moved to Berlin to sort himself out.

Which resulted in him releasing his best song - Heroes.

He had a massive influence over lots of bands. Whether you like them or not, there would be no band called Simple Minds who took the name from a line in Jean Jeanie or Dave Gahan might not have been in Depeche Mode after he sang Heroes at his audition to join the band. That is just a couple of examples, there are probably loads more

thats a bit unfair, there must be a couple of decent bands that came about under the Bowie influence?

Anyone watched the Vince Taylor story? It tells you in there where Dave got the Spiders From Mars from.
