Pie Of The Month
McCall in the post match reaction saying two goals was enough and while I get it was enough for the 3 points when we are scraping by the lower league teams while Dunfermline are scudding them and St Mirren are getting 3-0 forfeit wins it now means we probably need to beat Dumbarton by 3 or 4 to go into the St Mirren game with a decent chance of qualifying for the next round. Not that we're beating St Mirren anyway but it would be nice to still be in the running by the final game. Fuctifano
He plays like he's on ketamine etc etc... Would assume him and Sena will be at CB vs Dumbarton, maybe McKenna at RB just watched McCall's interview and I noticed he said Mac-Eye-ver rather than Mac-Eee-ver. Hopefully getting rid of the teuchter pronunciation was a condition of signing. Edited July 17, 2021 by Fuctifano

However, it does seem unlikely that we will qualify.

Or is it just his time on the pitch in general which are tracked? Becaise if a guy spends 20 games playing at RB, surely his stats will be more suited to those of a RB rather than a CB? Even if he is more naturally a CB than a RB. It just uses overall minutes. It's meant to sort them into position by % of mins played in certain positions, to avoid things like putting McKenna in amongst CBs when he's not played there, but after you highlighting him it looks like it's just sorting SFL players by what it's got down as "natural position".
jaggyness
So after the first couple of competitive matches I'm sure McCall will have targets in mind but if we're going to be running with a squad of 20/21 then we're max 3 players short so priorities for me are a centre half, a full back and a wide attacker. I'd expect at least one of these to be a loan, likely from one half of the ugly sisters.

If we don't bring more in, on the evidence so far, it will be a relegation battle ahead.

As strange as it sounds, being shite in out league cup games might be a blessing in disguise. Take away any over confidence from last year and shows the squad up for maybe what it is, a lower end Championship team with a few good players. New signings a must if we are to challenge for play offs.

DiegoDiego
Play offs probably out of reach for us this season. Perhaps, but pessimism is easily attainable.

JudgeMudge
A lot of negativity on here, understandable perhaps on recent performances. But we have three excellent midfielders and three really good attackers. Others areas aren’t necessarily a disaster and we have done decent players in reserve. Don’t think playoffs is unreasonable.

They may have some guys back for midweek but wouldn’t shock me if you won comfortably as well.

VinnyPar
Reece Cole is training with us apparently, I know he was in a pretty rancid thistle team but what’s he like overall? Is it as simple as, “can hit a free kick”?
