Acceptable Length of Time to Wear Your Clothes

You came up on my "people you might know" thingy, had a look to see who you were.

Unless his name is genuinely Bobby Skidmarks then how do you know it's him?

Underwear/socks - one day

Jeans - 3 days, fresh pair for night out/ pub visit.

T-shirt - depends on situation - all day then change for next day. Few hours at night - 2-3 days.

Jumper - 1 week.

I live in the tropics, so I normally just wear everything the once.

Surely it depends upon what your wearing the clothes for doing? When I was landscaping the garden last year I would just re-wear the same work clothes.

Sometimes you have a shirt you wore once for a special occasion, you thought you’d get lots of wear out of it, but you end up not wearing it for twenty-two years.

The curve ball is raw selvedge denim, which should be worn for as long as is possible (i.e 6 months plus) before first wash.

My wife washes new stuff before she wears it.  Mad behaviour. 

She also takes photos of the cooker and sockets when we go on holiday to make sure she has switched them off.  Not all of them, just a select few.  I piss her off by asking if she's checked the one in the <insert obscure part of the house> just as we are too far from home to turn back.  Mad behaviour also.

There's an episode of House MD where someone gets sick from an allergy to some chemical used in the treatment of clothes. They'd have been fine if they'd just washed it first.

Also, they stress test underpants by getting a big fat sweaty lad to pull them on and do lunges.
