League over tonight, however, if EK want to get through the playoffs they will need to lose the habit of conceding first in games, its happened a lot recently.

People seem to be thinking it’s a foregone conclusion that EK will go up but Brechin have strengthened and McCall is improving Clyde.

Fairly even first half, with Tranent taking their chances.

Lots of huff and puff in the second half with EK seemingly running out of ideas.

Mick Kennedy was still giving it a few expletives from in front of the dressing rooms, moaning at his side to keep the the f***ing ball.

A minute later they got a goal back. All the momentum was now with them and they managed  to turn what looked like a certain defeat with 15 mins left into an unlikely victory.

They gained 7 points from 36 before McCall arrived and 8 from 33 under him, so pretty much no better. They are terrible and look doomed. You never know, but I can't see Clyde beating EK and Brechin have already seen them off earlier in the season, away from home.

Agree we were poor in first half and 2-0 down no real complaints, maybe flattered Tranent a bit. Matthew made big mistake for opener.  That said his save early second half was turning point. Great strike tipped over, doubt we would have got anything from game at 3-0  down.

Talk about game of two halves, from that save really only one team in it. We went back to two wingers and totally changed the game. The combination of Tiwi and Flanny out wide and Tranent holding what they had was new dynamic.

Yes Tranent had a few good breakaways,  but Andy Mcdonald at back was outstanding and won MoM by a mile.

Last 15 minutes about the best ever at K Park. The desire to win the game, after seemingly securing a very welcome draw was actually outstanding.

Still a way to go, but c'mon the Kilby

Need to get out of the habit of losing the first goal in games, the playoffs might not be as forgiving.

Agree 100%. Set up from start to contain,  not at all our style.  Was actually working OK till first goal. Losing second was probably bit   more than Tranent deserved. Understand the logic, we didn't need to win, Tranent did.

That said apart from few breakaways,  we were by far the  most likely to score in second half.

Would be great if we could get into habit of scoring first, if nothing else would ease the stress !

At last a Ref who doesn’t put with MKs nonsense.
He thinks rules don’t apply to him or his team, never stays in the technical area, the whole back room staff on the touch line when there should only be one, and constant abuse of officials and opposition.

Yep defence does seem to be a worry, particularly at home- quick browse through the Lowland League fixtures says they've played 17 games at K-Park and only kept 4 clean sheets.

They do seem to have a "we'll just outscore the opposition" approach to matches but as you say they could come unstuck against someone a bit more organised in the playoffs. Hope not.

We were 5-1 up and coasting.

With half an hour to go we made the ridiculous decision to make 5 subs in one go.

It went t#ts up from there.

Fair play to Edinburgh university, they didn't give up and 4 balls over the EK defence resulted in 4 goals.

In the end we did enough but leaking goals like that is annoying.

Another late come back, keep showing excellent desire. Lucky to be only 1 down at HT, poor pitch but we were far too passive. Bit of a mystery why penalty given, but  goal been coming.

More of same start of second half until substitutions made, thankfully not all 5 at once. Began to push forward and pretty well in control even after down to 10 men, ref seemed on a mission to show world record for yellow cards. Got one back, then  straight red for Broomhill  harsh in extreme.  Only one winner after that, got second and saw game out in control.

Don't  normally  comment on referees,  difficult job and all that. Totally spoiled game, over fussy, took absolute ages with everything he did, managed to upset just about everyone on and off the park, quite the worst " me me me" performance I have seen for many a year.

As always,  welcome and hospitality top drawer

Absolutely abysmal tonight.

Saying that, hearts were great, faster, fitter hungrier. Our players were tackling each other ffs

I promise I won’t mention it again after this, but your defence is an issue and could cost you in the playoffs.
