"The ICT Thread - From the Premiership to the Seaside"

Quite surprising that, considering the financial precipice that most Scottish clubs operate at, it's been a decade since anyone else entered admin.

Surely that's not right? I was told six clubs would go bust if Sevco weren't admitted directly into the Premiership?

ICT Superfan Stephen Malkmus has claimed that this represents the start of a new era for the club and that your Queen of the Souths and Ross Countys can get it up themselves.

I'm slowly catching up since I saw the news earlier.

This must be a right kick in teeth after the optimism of just a few weeks ago

There has been talk before of going into admin but nothing has happened yet. Maybe, just maybe, the Courier got sight of a document that was merely exploring the option and it's not quite yet on the cards hence why we have kept signing players.

However, what I suspect is more likely is that we are just an utter basket case akin to the Dundee and Livi admin episodes of years past and are indeed about to go into admin and signing someone at this time seems very, very strange.

Talk of admin is all in the print media, nothing from the club or the ICT Supporters Trust which has a large voting bloc of shares.

Maybe they are getting Reilly with Dundee picking up his whole wage, that's the only way it would make sense surely?

Ferguson in paper saying Inverness could only do the deal until January and not the full season so doubt Dundee are doing that.

‘Caley Jags could only fund the deal until January’

Not bothered now, it's done and dusted. Quite funny the ones voting for us having to pay a bond were moaning because we breezed to back to back title wins though, knackering a few of their title hopes that had aspirations of winning their league before we came into it. Obv thought we'd be fecked and not able to keep our 1st div squad of players, but it backfired on them.

Aye, fortunately it's been plain sailing ever since, without a hint of scandal.

Pretty good the 7 seasons prior to last season aye, back to back promotions and 6 seasons in the top flight, plus a League Cup final, better than a lot of teams have had,

Livi make Clyde look like a bastion of peace and tranquility. Your season ticket includes home games and court appearances.

As i said, it was pretty tranquil up to last season after a great spell, aye for Livi that's def unusual, got to take it when it comes and enjoy the f**k out of it. As long as Rankine has his claws in Livi the court cases will keep on coming. Current power struggle is proof of that.

Isn't about us though, unfortunately ICT are going through tough financial times. Hope they pull through, know all about admin being a Livi fan.

The SFA are very strict on football debts being paid off first, it could be the price of keeping the license. Likewise Ferguson's contract.

Would a CEO count as a footballing debt? Reading the SFA Rules & Regulations, Article E17 specifically states it applies to "officials engaged in football management and/or football coaching".

Obviously they are stuck with the Ferguson deal unless he decides to walk away, but from that reading Gardiner could at least get the shaft. You'd hope so anyway.

Curious as to why Dundee were given that massive points deduction instead of being demoted to the 3rd Division like Gretna and Livi before them?

Obviously the whole Livingston bond stuff has been covered in a previous post and Gretna were stuck straight down as everyone already knew they were going to be liquidated, but with the punishments being at the total discretion of the board at the time, rather than the set in stone 15 points then 5 we have now, I reckon the SFL board had effectively decided that for a second offence they wanted relegation to be the punishment. With Dundee going into administration mid-season contriving a way to relegate them on the spot would have wreaked too much havoc, so a 25 point deduction was supposed to ensure it instead. They ruined it by going 23 games unbeaten and staying up by 9 points.

Still signing players while quietly talking about going into administration is total Dundee behaviour.

It's possible that the media are just seeing last resort contingency plans that aren't going to come to fruition, it's possible that ICT are just shambolically adding to the wage bill despite not being able to afford the existing one. A not completely implausible alternative scenario is that they've looked to get relatively cheap loans in now at the last minute of the loan window still being open, so that when higher earners leave following the announcement of administration they can put a more credible team out with a few loanees than if they were left with Cameron Ferguson.

Obviously in that scenario when they come out of administration football debts will need to be paid in full as a condition of the licence, but in the meantime you'd expect it'd be much easier to keep up with whatever they're paying Dundee for Reilly's wage than continuing to scramble enough together to pay the likes of McKay and Devine every month.

Strange one - it makes no sense whatsoever for Charlie Reilly to walk into this sh!tshow.  I wonder if Dundee will pull the plug and send him elsewhere?

Isn't it too late to send someone out on loan now? Window closed for that kind of thing at end of September. Only emergency loans allowed until January.
