harry94
We've bought an old house up that needs a lot of work and have a very big DIY job on our hands.Right now, there's two fireplaces being knocked through, frames going up, rewiring, and a full redecoration (including kitchen worktops, doors and some rejigging). A lot of new stuff for us to take on (aside from electricals and skimming). In all of this madness and decisions to make, she's become absolutely obsessed with purchasing skirting boards and dedicated about 75% of her time stressing about this point and getting annoyed that I'm not giving it adequate attention. For what it's worth, they are mostly wood in pretty decent shape and would be madness to replace!

Buy her a heatgun / Nitromors and some wire wool and tell her to get the skirtings stripped and prepped for redecorating. She's only half-blind though - born with one eye. I don't actually think she understands the name to be fair. Worse is one of the other's, Ginger, who isn't ginger at all - he's a tortoiseshell. The name stuck because his predecessor was a ginger. I'll be gutted If I find out they actually understand their names.

Currently got approx 4 hours of daylight left, and we're still at home browning chicken to go into the slow cooker. She has it in her head that the planned walk is still possible in daylight. I for one look forward to our walk along an access track to the foot of the hill and back. Hillwalking and not leaving at 6am is amateur stuff
Iminavest
Stuck the washing machine on before leaving for work at 7 this morning so the gf would have plenty time to hang it out before her driving lesson at 10. Come home at half 3 and it's out but for nothing more than an hour by the feel of it.

Unless you're needing clothes urgently having them hung up by the time you get home seems fine. I was expecting this to end with her just leaving them in the machine or, worse, in a pile by the machine.

My wife is under the impression that she does the majority of the house work. The reality is that she does everything in a rushed, slap dash manner. I manage to do fewer tasks overall, but the ones I've done are actually finished!

"it dries quicker inside later if it has been hung outside" is my missus answer when I ask why she puts washing out in January
