Just think your being negative. Yes, if you were being offered a higher wage, you'd go if, and only if, the price was settled between the clubs. He's not going anywhere just yet, let's just be happy to have him.

Newmember
Not being negative . realistic maybe mate in my view by Ian McCall saying 200k plus will get him that opens the door. If someone came to you or me tomorrow and said I will treble ur wages am sure u would go . if shankland is on 750 per week and some club offered him 2000/2500 per week no way would he would have stayed at Ayr Edited August 2, 2018 by Newmember

Newmember
He's a great prospect and I think make it at higher level . Ayr should have got him on a 2 year in the Sumner not one

If we are in a position where we have a chance of getting into the playoffs or a chance of going down then he won’t be allowed to leave in January unless it’s a mental offer. Realistically though no one will pay a crazy fee for someone who’s out of contract 6 months later. The figures quoted are pocket money down south. Staying in a league, gaining promotion or a future transfer fee make it money well spent if it were all to work out
Newmember
If no one gets him in the 2 weeks then Ayr will have him for the season with no fee at the end of it . his goals might just keep yous up
D'Jaffo
by Ian McCall saying 200k plus will get him that opens the door. Except he didn’t say that. You’ve pulled that out of thin air mate.

Newmember
If some club came in with 200k plus add ons then he's away simple McCall wouldn't have a say in it Gone Don't worry guys f**k sake IMO you will have him for the season and get Hee Haw Edited August 2, 2018 by Newmember
placidcasual
If that's the case the club might be able to do a Lewis Morgan type deal and still keep him to the end of the season. He's out of contract at the end of the season. Why would they pay a fee and leave him with us?

I'm certain he would have a sit down with lachlan Cameron and discuss the offer if there was one. He is a star player who Mccall rates highly. Right now, there isn't an offer.
Newmember
Correct until someone come in with the offer suitable to Ayr then he is going no where . enjoy him as long as possible But under Jack Ross or Alex Neil he would prosper but only if it suits Ayr

Trogdor
I very much doubt we would take £250k. It would have to be a ridiculous offer for us to sell. As mentioned the drop off in attendances and those of us who specifically joined the 500 club as the club got Shankland would cost the club more than that. Also the feel good factor surrounding the club would disappear. Just read the statement from McCall as well. Pleased he's ruling it out unless it's a ridiculous offer! Admittedly, English Championship clubs could make a ridiculous offer fairly easily given the financial disparity in football. Newmember
What I don't understand Ayr fans are saying he was offered 3 times his wages in the summer by other clubs and he signed for Ayr . Really
Superhursty7
What I don't understand Ayr fans are saying he was offered 3 times his wages in the summer by other clubs and he signed for Ayr . Really According to both Shankland and McCall he was offered more money by teams in a higher league but felt he owed it to the club tonstaybwhen we have him a chance and he was really enjoying his football and the culture at Ayr, if the story's are true Hearts defo offerd him a contract.
