Miguel Sanchez
McLaren seem to have stolen Ferrari information again. Their strategist. That was an easy 1-2 sitting right there.
Mackie The Staggie
Decent race, all F1 needs is a bit of rain (just not enough to be completely wet)
Mr. Brightside
I thought the race was pretty dire, especially with the changeable conditions.
Gianfranco
Aye both McLaren drivers will feel they should have won that.
Sarto Mutiny
Lewis Hamilton drove brilliantly, and I suspect Max Verstappen will be absolutely delighted with second place. But my God, McLaren made an absolute c**t of that race.

MP_MFC
Norris is an absolute choke artist. Horrific from him and the McLaren team in general. He’s giving Perez a run for his money with these performances. -
Spyro
Do you think McLaren will stop asking Lando to choose tyres? He's brutal at it! The mediums that they just told them were there and fresh would have won that for him. Fair play Hamilton though, never put a foot wrong
Miguel Sanchez
Norris' post-race interview is bleak viewing. Genuine verge of tears.
doulikefish
The desperation to blame the Ferrari pit crew for Lando missing his marks at the pit stop is quite funny

I know he’s got his win and that silenced some critics but the amount of times he’s messed up when in good/winning positions is surely starting to alarm people. He’s had a race winning car for a while now and is constantly making stupid mistakes, there’s not really an “xG” equivalent in F1 but he must be severely under his “xWins”.

True, but Piastri's pace on mediums at the end of the race was much better than Norris's. Showed that the medium tyre was much better than the soft at that stage of the race. Mercedes had no new mediums left so had no choice - McLaren did.

It just wasn't a Ferrari-level strategy screw-up. Interesting that the teams that have poorer records on strategy have a tendency to defer to the drivers. The better teams can tell their drivers "trust us". This is a season of learning for Lando, he's never been in the position of fighting for wins fair and square before. I'd wait until next season to judge him. Loved that race BTW.
Mr. Brightside
It was an awful strategy call, his race engineer was in his ear talking about covering Hamilton or Verstappen and talking about different compounds all while Norris is racing on a drying track, no wonder Norris made the wrong call, the team should have taken the decision out of his hands.

The incompetence of F1 strategists amazes me. Every week there seems to be at least 1 disaster class that the commentators and fans call out instantly. They’ve got a team of people who’s only job is strategy and half of them seem to just spin a wheel to decide what to do (in Ferrari’s case that might actually work better).
