Thistle_do_nicely
Bassey is an extraordinary player to watch, in a complimentary way; extremely strong at winning the ball back and instinctively goes really tight every time but hes good enough that he never seems to get rolled or turned, so he hardly ever seems to have to stand off from players as a lesser defender would. Going forward he isnt as strong as said earlier in the thread but he still somehow bundles his way forward and beats players through sheer persistence time and time again. If he learns how to thread a pass or get better at crossing he could legit end up going for megabux in a couple of years. I said earlier he was toiling a bit from the constant fight with poulsen and id stand by that (it coincided when leipzig scored and had their best period so the whole team were a bit nervy), but once the third went in he caught a second wind. Explain why two teams making circa £30million from the Champions League while the rest of us pick up the scraps from under the table is a good thing... since the early 90s every pile of UEFA cash that’s gone into their coffers has made the Scottish Premier less and less competitive. Then factor in that the old Rangers used all that cash and even larger amounts of debt (and taxpayer money) to bring in players that cost more than the entire operations of teams lower in the league, but faced no lasting repercussions when this financial juicing blew up in their face, yet all those other teams now had to live in a new reality of permanent financial disparity kick-started in ‘86. Yeah, Celtic and Rangers playing in the Champions League is great for all of Scottish football Edited May 5, 2022 by Luddite

Yeah, Celtic and Rangers playing in the Champions League is great for all of Scottish football There is some truth to what you say, but it's not just Rangers and Celtic who benefit from a measure of success in Europe. It helps the coefficient, which should mean more qualifying teams from Scotland in the European competitions. It's hardly Rangers or Celtic's fault if the other qualifying teams can't raise much of a gallop in Europe. For fans of other teams to always want Rangers or Celtic to lose is a bit sad and totally against their own clubs' interests.
AyrAtlanta
Happy for the few decent posters on here and my Rangers-supporting pals but that’s as far as it goes. Scottish football will be in a worse place if they win this. As will the city of Seville…
Clockwork
Incredible achievement, not just tonight, Rangers have played so well throughout the tournament and fully deserve their place in the final. After a shaky start Lundstram has become a such an important player right across the park! Terrific shift by Big Shirley tonight also. Already well documented, but some change in fortune for the club since 2012.
