Dan Steele
My mum was in a care home with Alzheimer's. Then lockdown came and the last time my wife, my mum and I were all together was the day before no visitors were allowed. She died a month later. Her remaining family members couldn't travel due to restrictions. The only people at the crem were my wife, me, and the crem staff. And these fuckers are having a party. Get them as far to f**k as is possible. And yet Johnson still laughs, jokes, and makes millions. c**t.

Maybe I'm reading too much into what Gove said but I think they are trying to pivot to 'omg why did you actually go along with it'. He referred to people following the rules as people who accepted the 'curtailment of liberty'. I mean- people didn't accept it, it was made illegal. Tories seem to be going the right way to making Partygate an existential event for their party.

Tories seem to be going the right way to making Partygate an existential event for their party. That is exactly what they are trying to do. Efforts to make it old news and to minimise what the ask actually was of us all at the time. Vain hope that as time goes on, folk will forget it all. Problem they have is that unlike other events, which impacts the minority and the majority DO move on, this is something none of us can forget. Many had big life events impacted and you don't forget those. Others see the impact on their day to day and others around them. That video just adds a bit more to the pics we have already seen, but just reinforces that they think we were all 'lesser' people than them. Don't want to get all socialist etc as that's not my politics, but, these types are all bred to believe they are better than us. Nothing that happens to them is because of them. It's either pre determined if positive or if challenged by the public, it is others being jealous. A true Conservative would look at these people and be embarrassed for them. Those in charge of the country and the institutions at the moment are entirely self serving, so feel no shame. For those who get honours from Johnson, I suspect it might actually be something they come to regret. Will forever be badged as one of the folk who got a resignation honour from him and in a small part, their future standing will be linked to him and how he reacts from here. Kind of like the folk with Jim'll fix it medals..... Edited June 18, 2023 by Theyellowbox

Mark Connolly
Fair play to Bill Cash, "He didn't deliberately mislead the House, he only produced a complete dog's dinner of legislation that no-one understood" is quite the defence of Boris

ICTJohnboy
Some good speeches in this debate. I thought Pete Wishart was excellent. Did anyone else feel Tony Blair should have been subjected to this degree of humiliation over his WMD lies?
