Judge: “So you’re saying your client is not guilty of sex offences against this under age girl?”

Royal lawyers: “Yes m’lud”

Judge: “Because he’s included in a previous settlement by paedo Jeff and his trafficking pals?”

Royal lawyers: “Yes m’lud”

I think the royal historian Robert Lacey nailed it tonight when he suggested that the monarchy will lurch on but the Priapic Prince is toast whatever happens from here on in.  FWIW, and after reading today's accounts, I think the judge will throw out the attempt to kill off the action, but after that who knows what will happen*

If he loses a civil trial there will almost certainly be pressure put on for a criminal investigation.

I really hope this isn’t a parody account.

I'm sitting open mouthed (and not in any good way) at some of the comments from her in that thread

Im absolutely disgusted there isnt one already in the UK, she very clearly was trafficked to the UK for purposes of sex, its a crime, it needs investigating.
I completely agree.

The document defence is just an utter nonsense - it would mean that any sex crime could just be closed if there was a document signed by the victim.

A complete joke.

We now know that the polis in the UK don't investigate incidents that happened in the past.

Why is this taking so long? Does that mean judge is actually seriously considering his noncesense argument?

Not necessarily. The judge will be aware that whichever party he rules against is likely to appeal his ruling, so will take a bit of extra time to make sure the judgment is watertight. In any event, it's only been a few working hours since the judge finished hearing submissions. A decision like this would take a few days at least in my experience.

The US investigation is because she was a minor over there at 17. That's not underage here.

Don't know anything about the trafficking aspect to be honest, you're probably right, but thst sounds like a more difficult thing to prove.

This, the Royal Family's "work" is being figureheads for charities and military regiments and I don't see either queueing up to be associated with him - even if Giuffre's case is dismissed the best he can hope for is to be sat somewhere near the back at Chuck's coronation but either way he'll never be at the Top Table again.
