There's a statue of Charles II in Edinburgh dressed up as Caesar - who was a war criminal and a slave trader. Maybe that should go?

Any statue of Royalty should be dismantled full stop. p***ks the lot of them

I feel strongly that you're right and that Britain's royals have been, even since James VI, a partial bunch.  I have very little sense of being wedded to Britain's monarchs and if we, as a country, become a republic then it would get my vote.

So for sure, bring down the statues of kings of Scotland prior to 1688.  They were, after all, a partial bunch.

The only statue of a Scottish monarch in Glasgow worth maintaining is that of William of Orange who, of course, defended the right of parliament over the crown.

He was of course a bigoted murderer so let's bin him too.

Out of interest...how about the treatment of the most famous Irishman of all time?  I know you're a decent Scots/Irish bloke but how do you feel about the constant ridiculing of the Duke of Wellington?

By any measure it is anti-Irish bigotry.

So how do you feel about the constant denigration of Ireland's most famous son in Glasgow?

Ok, re. The Duke...despite being Anglo Irish and Protestant, he did champion rights for Irish Catholics which was quite brave of him. Re. James Connolly; Im not surprised an Edinburgh man gets a tough time in Glasgow. Look he was a socialist and a republican, he was good friends with Hardie and also pushed the socialist labour cause in Scotland. Unfortunately in Glasgow, many just see him as a dirty ******...which is pretty much par for the course in West Scotland.

So why is there an issue with The Irish Duke?  Why is he constantly traduced?  How angry are you about this?

Good news, if you want to know what the Prime Minister made of the weekends activities it's no longer behind a paywall however they have put an opinion piece on the government website.

The old mob that wrote angry letters into the Evening Times about the traffic cone on the Duke's head will all be dead now.

Even Abba's Waterloo was nearly 50 years ago.

Hasn't even crossed my mind dude. More angry that my luxury Spanish holiday was cancelled. Oh how bourgeoisie!

The Irish Duke loved his vacation on the Peninsula.  I think  Badajoz was his favourite spa town.
