........Surely to win a league title over far more games and playing the top teams in the west twice, should merit far more financial reward than it currently does and a fraction of the money for winning or even runner up in a weaker Scottish Cup. Get it sorted SJFA.

The South Challenge Cup looks a far stronger competition although too lengthy in terms of rounds and therefor cost to clubs travelling. The Junior Cup despite losing many of the bigger East teams appears to be over funded. A very good post and I've always thought that in every other country that clubs at all levels value a top league title win more than a top domestic knock out trophy win , it's over the course of the season and definitely has more meat to the bone.

That said the feeling of our three super premier wins from 2009/2010 in comparison to our one and only Scottish junior cup win on 29/5/16 really weren't comparable with the Scottish cup win blowing everything out the water ( most probably because it was the first time in our history and that the cup was all in at the time with the cream of Scotland in it) .

Quite ironic though in that out of all the teams we played in our Scottish cup winning campaign  that out of Vale of clyde, girvan x2, scone, petershill, arthurlie, kilwinning x2 and pollok in the final that scone were the only non west club that we played - so as always I could be talking shite 😉

Definitely agree though that in monetary terms the league winners should get a bigger chunk of money for their season long efforts .

Here is a post from October

At this point the league was due to finish in Mid March apparently. It's like people have never experienced how fixtures pan out at this level.

ETA- I did say I would bookmark it at the time @glensmad 😉

The last weekend of March and postponements likely for the card tomorrow. The argument is “but in October we were scheduled to finish in March”.

Lunacy.

Maximum points achievable (number of games left to play in brackets)

Beith - 70 (10)

Talbot - 68 (10)

Darvel - 62 (9)

Hurlford - 61 (11)

St Cadocs,  Clydebank - 60 (7), (4)

Pollok, Benburb  - 57 (7), (6).

Can't really see anyone outside of Beith, Talbot, and Darvel winning it now but stranger things have happened.

Darvel need to beat Talbot in midweek to have a decent shout, and that would probably be the result Beith are hoping for too.

My moneys on Talbot just to pip Beith.

Some run they have put together.
