Bairnardo
Another belting weekend for the "football is too big a business to have refereeing mistakes" types. Eye bleeding shite over 3 days

It should have been a Man Utd free kick, Son committed the first foul by brushing McTominay lightly. Due to it going back because of VAR, I'm not sure it could be given as a Man U free kick. The review is deciding whether or not Son was fouled; they can't check whether McTominay was. I think it is a foul. The SKY pundits say he's just holding him off ignores the fact he's holding him off by pushing a hand (lightly) into his face, not his chest. I'm surprised the referee didn't give it initially.

Genuinely... if that had lead to a goal for Spurs they could have legitimately have chalked it off for Son's hand across the front of McTominay. Main point here is that what happened could reasonably have been called a foul or not. But the ref decided it wasn't a foul at the time, and that was not a clear and obvious error. VAR should be used to overturn wrong decisions, not re-adjudicate every possible call in the run-up to every goal. Definitely better off without it if they can't do it better than this.
Theroadlesstravelled
Players like Duncan Ferguson or Roy Keane wouldn’t stand a chance in today’s football.

Because I cant comprehend any fan thinking that something like that is, or should be, a foul. Imagine you were playing fives and stopped and demanded a freekick for that. Youd get slaughtered. At the risk of going all yer da...its a contact sport, contact happens. Its pathetic.

He should have been booked for it, too. It is a contact sport, you're correct. Where are you drawing the line here? Are we all allowed to go about elbowing people in the face when we jump for headers because "it's a contact sport"? -

Trying to paint that as not a bottling collapse is complete nonsense from yourself I'm afraid. Leicester can't control the points other teams get. They got overhauled by Man Utd and Chelsea sides that started poorly but finished strongly. Leicester had a good opening 16 matches and a much lesser remaining 22 matches. Why is that a bad finish and not a good start? I didn't see anything that happened in their matches that I could call a lack of "bottle", and their form in the 9 games after the Covid break was the same as in the preceding 8 games. What I did see was a team that couldn't cope with injuries, and maybe weren't as fit and prepared after the Covid break as others around them in the league. -
Derry Alli
Recently, Rashford seems to want to try that little bit too much. That extra touch, turn or flick. I don't know whether it's with his growing reputation off the field or what but he's in danger of becoming a bit of a show pony. He had a few glimpses there at goal and kept trying for another angle.
Derry Alli
Again, refereeing standards here : why wasn't Shaw booked there for not attempting a tackle and instead just pushing an opponent with two hands to the chest?

McTominay was running and trying to fend Son off. A move that happens hundreds of times a match. Are all of those fouls as well? Huge leap from elbowing someone and what happened there. I dont know why you are comparing the two.

It doesn't matter if he has meant to catch Son, he's hit his opponent in the face with an outstretched arm. It's a clear foul.

You are spot on mate - he’s more interested than his off field image than his football.

DrewDon
Pogba's second half performance there was one of the most impressive I have seen from an individual player in the Barclays for a while.

That's because he always had good defenders. The current Spurs defence is arguably the worst in the league. They are only where they are in the league because they have very good attackers.
