Was this not supposed to be a tidal river? The fact that a body was found relatively close might be completely irrelevant.

Someone said there was a weir downstream so it's presumably not tidal upstream of the weir.

It seems there is a weir located just down river a wee bit for where she was presumed to have entered, so she was apparently found in the tidal section, but was last seen upstream of the weir. It’s actually just before the river passes under the bridge in the village, the bridge she crossed to get to the riverbank walk from her car. The area of the weir seems remote enough that I guess the body could have transited it unnoticed, but it’s a bothersome detail.

Sadly for her family the body recovered has been confirmed to be that of Nicola Bulley.
Her family have bravely called out the despicable practices of the ghoulish arseholes speculating over her ‘partners involvement’ and in particular ITV and Sky news for their absolutely disgraceful behaviour.
RIP Nicola.

Add Channel 5 to that list of utterly irresponsible behaviour.

Some closure to this is the only kindness.

The following can get in the bin immediately....

Peter Faulding, Crime Scene Tourists, Facebook detectives and Dan Walker*

*not solely because of him fronting the Channel 5 Nicola special, but because he's a massive gimp.

If it makes you feel better, he's got a smashed face after getting knocked off his bike earlier

So much of it, Burley being a horrible horrible scumbag, talking head of ill informed former/shamed/couldnt hack it/lying about their qualifications ‘experts’. Endless speculation. Said before, one day, and it will absolutely happen, her kids will look back at the news of today, of what was said on twitter, the lies, the unnecessary shite and be equally traumatised by that. I welcome vetting and corrupt police officers being prosecuted, ive contributed to that, but how many journalists will change their practice in a sense of realisation? How many of these ‘citizen journalists’ or ‘search experts’ will change a fucking thing. They wont, they’ll wait for the ‘next’ big thing and another family will go through the same thing, but these crayon munchers dont have the self realisation or maybe they do and their just fucking evil.

I’ve been appalled at the social media and pile- in by former coppers and commentators with this case. The biggest clown is that diver who turned this into a promotion of his company and was giving constant commentary.

Sympathies to the family and hopefully we learn to not turn these cases into the next “Madeleine McCann by social media”type situations, however I’m sure the next time an attractive blonde woman/ child with an interesting life goes missing/ abducted, the press and nutters in social media will revert to type.

Correct, we already know what the next social media obsession will be - a supposed ideal victim.

All the attention only made things worse for this poor woman and her family.

This can't be a closed case.

Let's wait for the post mortem results, for all we know just now, the body could have only been in the water for a few hours.

Did she jump in or pushed.

That we mutt of a dog is still prime suspect.
