Only excuse Motherwell have is that Sligo are halfway through their season and are fully matchfit. Doesn't mean they shouldn't be winning this tie with ease. I don't think match fitness came into it there. Motherwell just look like a terrible football team. There was not one bit of intelligent football there. Sligo are half way through their season so are match fit but Motherwell should still be pumping teams like that, no excuses. If our teams are serious about doing ok in Europe then they simply have to drastically cut short their close season and be a bit more professional about their preparation.
