Scottish football's losers in 10 years

Recommended Posts

Probably the wrong sub forum but it straddles many leagues and this as good a place as any for general scottish football chat.

A perfect storm of rising costs and teams getting caught up by former juniors is coming.

Nobody wants or takes any pleasure from any team except Dundee to die/ be about 4 levels down but hard times are ahead.

FC Edinburgh - dead/EoSFL - got a jump ahead but now teams with real supports and money in the East are coming and they will get squeezed out. In the same way as Berwick used to be well placed for any people in the East who wanted to play league football there will be so many more attractive options.

Queens Park - WoSFL - 5 years too late to tap into the last great wilderness of Glasgows southside. Pollok and EK will supercede them.

OG Broomhill/Caley Braves/Uni Teams - 3 or 4 levels down/dead - Self explanatory

Cowdenbeath- never coming back- no bigger or better than Kelty/Crossgates/Hill of Beath

Berwick - as above

Elgin - HFL- failed to capitalise on their head start and will be one of the perennial HFL challengers but not good enough to beat LL contenders. Peterhead at risk of this too. Probably for the best

Albion Rovers- WoSFL

Dundee United.

Mr Ogren will call in all his nigh on £10m in loans and Dundee United will have to sell Tannadice and move into Dundee's new stadium before going part time.

#PaveTannadiceToPutUpAParkingLot.

Is Dens Road Market still open? Tannadice would make a good car park for visiting it.

Mark complains they paved tannadice to put up a parking lot, a measure which actually would have alleviated traffic congestion on the outskirts of the dens road market, something which Mark singularly fails to point out, perhaps because it doesn't quite fit in with his blinkered view of the world.

Been condemned for many, many years. It's been slowly collapsing and rotting.

Hibs will probably still be Hibs in 10 years' time, tbh.

Of that there is no doubt.

By 2032 I expect Hearts to have won the Anne Budge memorial cup for a record 10 years on the trot, beating a Port Vale legends team on penalties in the final.

Any fans of East Stirling, Berwick or Brechin have anything positive to say about dropping out of the league? Fewer humpings? Closer away days? Anything?

TBF, there might be more replies to this if the thread wasn't in the Premiership forum.
