He did explain on a rugby podcast what they were.

I can't remember exactly, but they were all basically for being a member of the family when certain events occurred - Jubilees, etc. Even he was embarrassed by it

Sane with all these people in the armed forces, you get medals just for being in the job at the time they are getting one for this as well.

You don't need to charge into a trench or anything. Just sit in an office for years on end.

It's really just the icing on the latest contradiction for the British gammon.... The same types who were so staunchly opposed to "forgetting wur history" when some statues of auld racist dudes got moved, now gleefully waving through proper fash measures because they don't agree with the current brand of protest.

It's amazing how cheery they are about us having won the war, when by most measures they would have probably been happier if it went the other way.

What I'm hoping to see on tomorrow's news, just as the massed pipes and drums of the noisy b@stard regiment are giving it laldy, are a couple of blokes hanging out of their windows shouting "HAW! WE'RE ON NIGHTS!"

I find the contradiction is even more stark when you remember that last year the same gammon would have disliked Charlie "because he's a tree hugging lefty type".
