Brora v Vale moved to Golspie

Buckie v Strathspey postponed

Forres v Wick postponed

Keith v Brechin 1.30 pitch inspection postponed

All due to waterlogged pitches. All 4 clubs need to get serious in the summer about sorting the drainage out, this season has been embarrassing. Brora, Buckie and Forres have been some of the more reliable grounds till this year.

That all costs money, which clubs may not have, also it's highly unusual for a period of rain like this, so hopefully this may be a one off.

We just came back from Lossiemouth yesterday afternoon. Rain was heavy the whole drive home, hit a few puddles felt the car slipping a few times.
To be fair to them how often does a game get called off in April due to a waterlogged pitch

I get that, but the reason for the backlog of games is because these specific clubs have been postponing games all season when in previous seasons they wouldn't have needed to.*

*except for Keith, they've always had trouble..

Will Keith/Brechin be writing another fuuuuuming joint statement about the disgraceful, jobsworth referee not giving them an extra hour and a half to shovel sand onto a flooded park to somehow create a real surface for a professional football match?

The lack of contingency is mental! We all knew Keith's pitch won't be playable again, yet we go through this charade over and over again with no plan B. There are plenty of suitable pitches between Keith and Brechin.

If Keith (or anyone else) can't get a game on after the 2nd or 3rd attempt they should relinquish home advantage and play the game anywhere that is suitable. It's on the clubs to invest in their infrastructure

You would think the soup and sandwich specialists would have a back up plan like Brora but would the Vale and Lossie let them use there pitch again after their latest shenanigans.

It's not ideal and Vale/Lossie/Buckie is something I'm not getting involved in, but there has to be a better plan in place.

Tbf every league seems to have had trouble this season so I'm probably being unfair having a go at the HL, but it's a lot of the same issues that keep coming up and no one has worked out a solution yet

No because it was pishing down at the time of inspection as it had been for the previous 24 hours and the forecast was more rain in the afternoon you simpleton.

A quick check of the weather forecast in that area might have saved you the bother of trolling

Shed load of rain predicted tomorrow on top of already saturated ground, so not particularly hopeful for a game this coming Saturday.

At least I get a Wimpy if the Broch V Brechin game is somehow called off at 2:15.

Into April now and the weather is still fuckin horrendous but agree the above pitches need either sorted or either 3G needs put down,if not next season but the following.

Blizzard in Inverness at the moment then it's meant to be 17c tomorrow, but you'd imagine the pitches round about here will be sodden and games will be off.

The main problem is the HL's hard on for cup competitions (there is absolutely zero need for both the Aberdeenshire Shield and Aberdeenshire Cup anyway, get rid of one of them) and them taking priority over the league fixtures getting played.  All available midweeks before the clocks go back at the end of October should have league fixtures prioritised so the season can be more advanced before the postponement bonanza from November to March.

It also means clubs who need 3/4G pitches (Buckie, Brora, Strathspey etc) aren't having to play 7 games in 3 weeks as we move into the spring.

Agree with most of that but Buckie and Brora have drained fine up until this season and just need a serious bit of work over the summer. Strathspey and Keith could probably do with plastic though.

It's usually the wind that does for games at Fraserburgh, spent nearly 5 hours getting there by train and bus one year and it was called off at 2.50.

Brora (at Golspie), Clach, Rothes and Keith home games postponed so far, inspection due at Fraserburgh, probably more incoming. Check FitbaNorth and Twitter before heading out.

Buckie now scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday to finish on April 20th. Brora keep playing till April 27th presumably because they've no chance of being champions.
