MarkoRaj
Power and Gillespie are much of a muchness imo. But they can't both start, we need someone that can get up and support the press. We were too easily bypassed last week
TheGoon
Probably head along for the day out, the team selection’s likely to inform whether I just stay in the pub or not. If Caley and Ayr get results we are in real, real bother.

By some distance his highest tally. He hasn't been unlucky (not that he's caused the injuries either) - he just has chocolate hamstrings. If that weren't the case then he might be part of a squad at a higher level. We had to factor that in when we signed him tbh. The bigger problem for us is that our two wide signings over the summer have been absolutely fucking useless. While McGrattan should come into the side in place of Boyd, his supposed impact on the park has been blown way out of proportion too. If we can start with the aggressive pressing that we did well against Airdrie on Saturday then we have a reasonable chance of getting a result. That might be harder to execute at Hampden though - and we probably need to push higher up defensively if Broadfoot isn't playing. As on Saturday we'll also need to get the first goal in the game or there'll be a lot of huffing and puffing with nothing to show for it.

He got a knee injury on the artificial pitch at Falkirk in April 2021 that kept him out for more than eight months, so it hasn't just been his hamstrings.

That injury gubbed his time at QP. He was the one player in that league 2 title winning team that looked so far ahead of all his competitors. We were a rigid team under Mackinnon but Quitongo was such a spark out wide Can’t wrap my head around that once he was back from that injury, Beuker bizarrely never favoured him and played imposters like Longstaff and Mcbride over him Pretty sure in Quitongo’s interview when he joined Morton, he said he was supposed to of got loaned out to them in the January which I found wild considering how poor we were in league 1 Edited October 5, 2023 by qpfc

Always had a sense of anticipation when he got the ball out wide. The end product was a bit of a mixed bag but you were always guaranteed a spectular finish at some point in the season. Sad things didn't work out for him at QP.
TheGoon
QP let you buy up until kick off? Waiting to see just how badly it’s pissing down.
ClydeTon
A month's worth of rain set for tomorrow... F**k. Even if the Hampden pitch (somehow) copes I might give this a pass, our of fear of being stuck in Glasgow overnight. If it is cancelled - what's QP's policy regarding cancelled games? Refunds issued, or does the ticket transfer to the rearranged game?
vikingTON
I think a precautionary postponement until January/whenever we have players fit would be for the best.

Is there a pitch inspection planned?

No idea what sort of nick the pitch will be in.

The pitch is hybrid and well drained but it’s an exceptional amount of water to fall, even for Scotland.

Communication not the club’s strongest point but an update of sorts would be appreciated. Wouldn’t want to be freewheeling along the M8 from Greenock today.

The SPFL announce pitch inspections themselves on Twitter and there's no mention of it there either. Suspect they may leave it as late as possible though given the away team and fans don't have to make a particularly long journey.
Dunning1874
Probably not as heavy in Glasgow, but Greenock's had hours of the kind of rain that only took 20 minutes to flood the Hampden pitch for hours for the Georgia game.
ClydeTon
Trains binned on the Wemyss Bay line between WB and Port Glasgow, with the 10:12 Gourock - Glasgow entirely cancelled due to severe weather, others probably due to follow. As mentioned above, Hampden didn't cope at all with 20 minutes of this rain in June, it certainly won't cope with 12 hours worth of it. I don't think any number of squeegees can save this one.
Dunning1874
That's the trains off entirely now and main roads have already been flooded for hours, so even in the extremely unlikely event the pitch is playable no one is getting there.
