**Pie and Bovril's Top 100 TV Shows of All Time**

Other than kicking myself at a handful of things that I hadn't taken into account when I made my own list, my biggest takeaway from other's contributions is how few people must have seen Deadwood because to have seen it and not have it comfortably in your top 3 just doesn't compute for me.

Not in any ranking order:

Deadwood

The Wire

The Sopranos

Guilt (1st series)

Tutti Frutti

Various manifestations of Partridge

Line of Duty

The Office (UK)

The Thick of It

Extras

I should add that Malcolm in the Middle was better written than Breaking Bad, and Cranston's acting was also superior in that programme.

You might say “in no particular order” and “not in any ranking order”, respectively but they are, in fact in a particular order and have been ranked in that order by virtue of the thread rules. I’m unreasonably incensed by this and considering a self referral to the Pep thread.

Never seen any of The Wire or The Sopranos.

There. I feel better now.

Get them watched. I've not finished Sopranos but probably would have put it in if it remains enjoyable til the end.

I've never even heard of it tbf, I'll look it out but a lot of the choices are understandably generic (as mine is).

Saddened to see nobody rating Mr Robot. One of the few shows that has a brilliant beginning, middle and end.

Thanks primarily to this thread, just a fashionable fifteen or so years behind everybody else, I have now started Breaking Bad this week. Fairly promising first three episodes.

Get BCS and El Camino watched after, brother.  Unbelievable television.

It's wonderful, it's amazingly written and has great performances throughout. If you expect a lot of gunfighting and so on you'll be disappointed but there is a decent amount of big fat hard men fighting in the street.

It's about how humans build society around symbols*, how society and community civilise people, and how capital and effective monopolies seek to destroy that. It's about how the West and America as a whole as we know it were made by a mixture of cunning idiots, conmen and two different kinds of brutal people - ones whose morality has been scraped away through years of brutality; and others who sometimes get so mad about things that they beat someone up and cry like a frustrated child. The characters are amazing as themselves but also almost all function as archetypes which the show examines a lot. I can't speak highly enough of it.

I always meant to watch Mr Robot when it was out but didn't have Prime at the time, and it's kind of disappeared from public consciousness/cultural memory a bit which is quite rare for a show as highly regarded at the time. might give it a go at some point next year.

Its another one that I forgot about tbh as I watched it so long ago, but I can say with a degree of certainty its never threatened by top 3. That said, the characters (Swearengen being my favourite) and the lingo used are absolutely magnificent. The way Al delivers his patter is pure art.

ER

Gomorrah

Derry Girls

It's a Sin

House

Homeland (earlier series)

West Wing

Nurse Jackie

Sopranos

Succession

Big Little Lies

Edited as I totally forgot to put Gomorrah in.

I watched The Wire but it didn't really stand out. Gave up after about 10 min of breaking bad and GoT isn't my thing.
