By appointment makes it a show home, not an open one. Surely they open it to let you in

There's a lot of middle ground between getting upset at people liking non-football sport and people thinking American football is particularly shite. I often watch boxing, tennis, athletics (plus snooker, "sport" status tbc); watched ski jumping and egg chasing over the last few days. American football is definitely on the shite list, along with golf and test cricket. But apparently Taylor Swift was playing this year so it needs to be in the news, and talked about by bell ends at work, which is irritating.

My issue isn't folk not liking American Football, it's not for everyone. Like you, there are sports I don't like, Golf being the main one but I don't seem to get annoyed when the Masters is on. Watch this space when another major sporting event is on to see what I mean.

Melanius Mullarkey
The BBC piece on the superbowl yesterday started by explaining that "the commercials are often the highlight with people tuning in just to see who is in them" Whilst this may not be entirely true, it is entirely true. Laughable shite, the whole affair.

Then I started watching, really watching, not just the Super Bowl, it is a fantastic, tactical, tough sport that any build of person can play (if you are good enough at your position). If you can see past the ad breaks (I agree very annoying, but not what we are used to) it can be so gripping. The fantasy element just adds interest to every game too.
velo army
Aye once you understand American Football it's an exciting sport to watch. I don't, but I get why others do. Anyway, my PTTTGOMN is the naming of things after people who have died. At Firhill we have the John Lambie stand and McParland Way. Both men achieved things that we were all aware of for years, but we waited til McParland had died before naming a thing after him. Do it while he's still alive and he gets to be honoured by it for the rest of his life. Just seems a shame to wait.
