After agreeing a price and telling him my address I asked when he can do it? No reply came until the 15th and we agreed on today at 3.00 He's either very late or no coming. 19 day wait to get 3 carpets cleaned and the c**t is a no show. The amount of different terms for the same thing, depending on where you're from, how old you are and where you trained are mind-boggling. The railway's pretty bad for that too. On a daily basis you have to swap between distances given in miles, metres, yards, chains, feet or SLUs . Depending on what yard you're in or the age/experience of the shunter you're working with you could be talked back in metres , yards , feet , megas, euros , twins , platforms, wagons ..... You might still need a bit of elbow grease for really stained bits, but it removes most stuff. Remember to buy the cleaning fluid as well. How much did he quote? It's less than £30 including chemicals, dead easy to use. You order the machine online and pick it up at the supermarket where you buy the chemicals separately. The basic cleaning liquid should do, they try and sell you specialist stuff that I don't think does much. Get a decent size bottle though and consider hiring it for 2 days for another fiver in case you decide to give it another go when it dries out.
