  1. Seems bizarre that Dundee won the league and then sacked their manager, but Utd were relegated and gave the manager a new two year contract. Fitba, eh?
  2. Seems so obvious to us mere punters, so how come Ross, Fox and Goodwin couldn’t see it?
  3. Not sure if Utd will stick with Goodwin, but he’s desperate to stay at the club as he knows it’s his best chance of managing in the top division again. At Aberdeen, he took too long to get some decent central defenders in, and I’m not sure he will be able to convince enough good players to sign on at Tannadice. Have to worry about his judgement as he (allegedly) thought Motherwell were a lost cause, whilst he was convinced he could keep Utd up…
  4. Brad Lyons was outstanding? Wish I had been there to see that. We always knew he would come good…eventually.
  5. Ross and Goodwin worked their magic then? Of course it was all because of Mr Fox…
  6. Sad times for Clyde fans. Last time it was this bad, Ronnie MacDonald rode to the rescue. The club has been on a steady decline since he left. Mr Carmichael lacked the business and football acumen to turn things around and there has been a procession of clueless individuals making decisions that will see the club disappear into oblivion very soon. ps: Hope Rico makes a good recovery.
  7. Given that you think he has been pish, do you think he is a good signing for Aberdeen? McCrorie is not exactly a hard act to follow!
  8. Well done Dundee, welcome back to the top division! Great game and a fitting end to a very competitive title race. Delighted for the fans, the players (including Jakubiak) and Gary Bowyer. I’m glad the board stuck by him when things got a bit shaky as he’s a decent manager and a good guy. Nice touch to bring on Mr Dundee near the end. See you soon folks, have good summer!
  9. Credit to Stephen McGinn as well. Thought he played very well today. Shame his team mates could not take their chances.
  10. I wasn’t too impressed when Goodwin signed Curtis. In fact, I was usually relieved when other clubs brought him on as a sub against us. Goal scoring has never been his strength. He has been excellent this season, no doubt at least partly due to Robbo’s influence, and I would be happy if he stayed on. If he goes, I am sure Robbo will find someone at least as good to replace him. Dunne has also been excellent this season. We all know he is prone to the odd error, bad pass, stupid foul, but his pace and strength have saved us many times. Good luck to both if they move on, they will be remembered for their contributions to our top six (at least) finish, but in Robbo we trust…
  11. I’m the first to admit that St Mirren were mince on Saturday, but Collum was his usual dreadful. Good luck with the latest instalment of the Willie Collum show. Let’s hope he doesn’t cause a full scale riot.
  12. Is that Craig Gordon wearing his first international cap?
  13. No surprise we didn’t hear from you after the game at Tynecastle, Elvis. You must have been gutted…
  14. Snodgrass apparently looking to rip up his agreement with Hearts.
  15. I wonder if Jim will mention that his ‘centre forward’ went down for no good reason…apart from winning a penalty kick.
  16. Is Zander definitely out for Saturday’s game or is Robbie at it?
  17. Like LIVIFOREVER, I was amazed when Hearts signed Ross Stewart. He wasn’t very good for us and I recall him playing in a 5-0 defeat at Firhill when Jack Ross was in charge. Jack signed two Ross Stewarts on the same day and Stubbs let the other one, the tall striker with huge potential, move to County to make way for his very poor signings from south of the border. Maybe Hearts just signed the wrong Ross Stewart. It’s surely make or break time for the young goalie. Good luck to him, but just not on Saturday.
  18. I’ve watched a few of your games but yet to see McGuire make much of a contribution, yet Bullen probably thought he would make a big difference over the last few months of the season. Thought McAllister was decent tonight, especially going forward. Maybe having Mullen back would help?
  19. Just for the record. I was at the game and, as far as I could hear, the Saints fans chose to ignore the ‘Dundee United manager’. No pies, insults or coins tossed in his direction. More to be pitied…and he managed to get himself a yellow card because we were, rightly, awarded a penalty for all those assaults on our centre forward.
  20. Max has been good tonight, as you say. Hope he can keep developing to get himself games in the SPL.
  21. No mention of Daniel Finlayson in the Loanwatch article, yet he was a Cup winner for Linfield in NI yesterday. Is he still on loan or has he gone for good? Suspect he won’t be back in Paisley.
  22. Thought Jay played well last night and was a candidate for man of the match. Some good crosses, hit the post, got the better of their left back on several occasions and worked hard for the team defensively. Could have scored when through on the keeper but a decent save. Not a bad contribution, all things considered. Jones and Power were poor, as were their teammates.
