I prefer Donnie Brascoe to Goodfellas.

For the avoidance of doubt and to try and prevent another "hash brown/tattie scone incident", I'm not for one moment saying I don't like or rate Goodfellas, it's a brilliant movie. I just prefer Donnie Brascoe.

They are both good movies but I think Goodfellas is superior.  I think the pace of the movie really encapsulates that lifestyle, the full throttle headiness of it, it makes you see how Henry and the rest of them end up getting so involved in organised crime.  I don't think I can name a film where the style integrates so well with the story.  It also has spot on performances from all the cast.

Donnie Brasco is a good movie but it's more conventional.  Still an excellent mob movie.

Of that genre, I think Scorcese's remake of The Departed is underappreciated. Plus it gave us this excellent gif

Never realised it was a remake before. According to Wiki it's a remake of Hong Kong film Internal Affairs, which also had two sequels. Are any/all of them worth watching?
