Yes we managed to get rid of all that pesky youth and thankfully just before Christmas so we could embark on this wonderful Campbell & Lang Busted Brentford Model Odyssey. All monies wisely & safely diverted to the 1st team to get us into the Premiership. The rest is history.

Our board can’t even tell us about a half a million pound investment. You don’t seem to care about that yet demand the names of the SPFL board. The SPFL are awful but they’re not the ones responsible for the situation we’re currently in. Spot on.

If there is any circumstance where the club’s (lack of) available players might require one or more of those isolating players to play the match, it should be absolutely postponed and the PA should be screaming to high heaven about the risk to the player(s). It would be utterly insane to expect a player who has been limited in fitness activities for the preceding 10 days to risk his season or career to keep some opening day match from being postponed. It’s not so much the lack of practice as the lack of a proper workout followed by a balls to the wall effort. Personally, lock the SPFL Board into small boxes for a week, and then have them compete on an obstacle course, with wolves chasing them, while wearing meat suits…and toss the OF Directors in there too. The SPFL Board is the clubs in the main. The clubs vote them on. This will be driven, as always, by water tight legals.

basher brash
The exact happened the same with us Raith rovers last season we didn’t train for 10 days until the Friday the day before we played a double header against hearts , Unfortunately other teams will benefit from this situation which may or may not effect results long term

We have a squad of 20. 5 players with actual covid and 9 players seen as close contacts so they are in isolation until Tomorrow. So that gives us 6 players who've been able to train this week and 9 players who'll have to play having just came out of isolation the day before. That's obviously assuming there's no injuries or any further covid positives(I don't know which days they test)
bairn88
It would be completely absurd and dangerous to ask players who barely had a pre season to play a league game hours after coming out of a 10 day period where they couldn’t leave their house. There are about 30 free midweeks to choose from plus the odd free weekend. To argue otherwise would prove an inability to think rationally.

They'll know what we are doing and have a dozen balls located all around the pitch, the instant it goes out of the ground they will just use another one, that could result in us actually being under more constant pressure. Nah, use the ball as best as we can when we have it, play it long and hope for the best.

The only positive to take from it is no matter who has Covid we'll not be missing anything decent upfront. If it's either of Ryan Williamson/Dixon/Telfer/Morrison then we're humped.

This is not a decision where you would be making an "appeal" which costs money. It's been referred to the board to look at today, which doesn't cost anything. However, clearly not all of their decisions are driven by "watertight legals" given that Killie and St Mirren did successfully appeal an SPFL decision last season relating to our covid postponements.

I don't necessarily think Falkirk should be forced to play here but what's dangerous about it? You've got a team of fit full time players who were coming to the end of a pre-season schedule - not sure how you think they haven't had a preseason, they've been training for weeks? It's obviously far from ideal and most like disadvantages Falkirk but I don't think it puts any players in danger.

Because it’s pretty difficult to do any sort of training/running from your house imo - unless they’re all fitted with running machines, other equipment etc. The risk of serious muscle injuries when thrust straight into an intense league game would surely be off the charts and surprised PFA haven’t got involved. Even moving game to Monday would let some of the players at least do a bit of running/turning severely reducing risk of injury - player welfare is still important
