Play off place more possible after this round of results. QOS must still be favourites but we have a reasonable chance. They are a good team but if we retain our current form we will give them two hard games in Dumfries.

I'd make you favourites now.

We had a rotten day today. We lost two defenders to suspension for upcoming league games and a striker for the Cup-tie.

Oh and two points.

Dundee aren't stupid enough to pay too much and get in financial bother.

I presume that is tongue and cheek?

i think it could go right to the wire, but a few straight defeats for either side in the coming weeks would prob mean the end of their play off hopes, our biggest problem seems to be whenever we get close to QoS we go and drop points so always playing catchup.

Don't forget the hotel.

The roof, don't forget about the roof.

Retractable Ajax style I heard

What! No mention of the Casino. Is the plans for it on hold due to it being in the infamous "blast zone"?

Fair enough. Admittedly, I'm a born pessimist. However, the gap is now small and any momentum is not ours.

We certainly have the momentum. Of our next six games before we go to Dumfries we play Alloa, Dumbarton, Cowdenbeath, Raith and Livingston with Hearts at home in that mix. All the other games are away apart from Raith.

We have to be ahead by then IMO with Rangers and Hibs as our last two games.

In the same period QOS have to go to Ibrox, Tynecastle, Easter Road and Kirkcaldy. They have Rangers at home with Raith and Cowdenbeath also going to Dumfries.

The three games prior to our visit to Dumfries is Hearts, Hibs away then Rangers at Dumfries three days before we go.

Prediction of points before we go to Dumfries is:

Falkirk 52pts probably max 56pts

QOS 48pts probably max 52pts

Obviously my opinion but certainly the run of games we have prior to going to Dumfries is on paper easier than that of QOS. However expect the unexpected.

You have the harder last two matches on paper tho.

Fair enough assessment. I think there will be some unexpected results. Wonder how much bearing the QF will have on the losing side.

He acknowledged that.

I was looking at fixtures, myself. Our margin for error has now gone thanks to our errors. We simply can't slip against the likes of Cowdenbeath now and we'll need to do well over the two Raith games. We're also going to have to take points from the big 3, if we're to stay in it for the Falkirk game here and the later matches where our run-in looks kinder.

It might well run very close, but I think it's likely that to do this, we might have to overturn a deficit at the end.

Good post.

Much to play for.

Quite likely to go to the wire.

One of us will be "distracted" by a cup semi, possibly a final. :unsure2:

Hoping for a big crowd and good atmosphere from both sets of fans on Friday but how much will the Friday night kick-off and television coverage affect the number travelling from down or is there still a big "need to be there" feeling?

Will take the away support from 2000 to 1000 imo

Remember we are trying for a playoff place. We know how hard it is for a team who are third or fourth to get promotion. We also know it is not a money spinner as the SPFL take a huge cut of revenue. Sure it would be nice to be third or fourth for pride purposes but it is not essential. Now a Scottish Cup semi or even final that's worth going for
