Mark Connolly
Just the 5 years since the OP, and a 3 year bump? Arsene's seat is safer than a Tory in the Home Counties.
Glenn Medeiros
Wenger must stay and lead us to the treble next season. Change would be moronic.

GiGi
The one season where a points total in the mid 80s would be a stick on to run away with it and Arsenal are still going to finish 4th behind Leicester and Spurs. Ooft.
GiGi
Actually Arsenal haven't managed over 75 points in a league campaign since 2007/8 or something. Surely not good enough.
throbber
They are shit, this is the season that they had the chance to won and they have done the exact same thing as they always do in playing good football but not getting the results and ultimately being happy with top 4 and CL football even though they were dumped out at the first knockout stage for the 10th season in a row with an utterly inept performance. They should be one of the biggest teams in Europe with their flash stadium and the fact they are in London where everyone wants to be, they have the finances to attract top European players but they seem happy enough not spending big and finishing top 4 every season. Think Wenger has taken them as far as he can and he should have stepped aside for Pep when he knew he was available.
Benjamin_Nevis
They have basically "Hibsed" this season. All the other big clubs have been pretty much shite, and they're STILL going to finish behind their biggest rivals and a team that was almost playing in the Championship this season. Wenger has become an unambitious coward and should be binned close season.

Mark Connolly
Even if Spurs win the league? Yip. The only way Wenger finishes as Arsenal manager is if he chucks it - they won't ever sack him.

BigTamMuller
If he hasn't been sacked since the inception of this thread with the exact same problems 5 years ago, it's not going to happen at the end of this season either. He'll go when he decides to chuck it.
Glenn Medeiros
Why would they sack him though ? We are probably the only team in England worth watching ( maybe Everton or Spurs at a push), the club is stable, and we're starting next year with a settled squad, giving us a huge advantage over City or United who'll struggle. I mean would you really want a season ticket for Stoke, Liverpool or Aston Villa ? That's why he must stay and continue his artistry

Arsenal are bigger than that. They should be challenging for the league every season.

Arsenal are bigger than that. They should be challenging for the league every season. Just to give a sense of how far away Arsenal have been. Average points total of PL champions in the last 10 years: 88 pts Average points total of Arsenal over the last 10 years: 74.5 pts Not even within touching distance of genuine contenders since they last won the league. If the Arsenal board had any ambition they would really have got shot of Wenger a long time ago. He's not achieving enough points in the league and they're not threatening the top teams in Europe to win a major trophy there either. The benchmark of success at Arsenal now is consistent qualification to the champions league to get papped out in the early knock out rounds and the odd domestic trophy to placate an increasingly restless fan base. I think it's clear they're desperately in need of new leadership.
