Ric Posted February 4, 2022 Share Posted February 4, 2022 I had raised the question regarding Speirs' previous position when Goodwillie joined Clyde, however that crazy take on Rix is so wildly out of touch, even for 2011, it beggars belief. It's clear that Speirs has an opinion on this rather than just getting involved to seem relevant. Sadly his opinion is based on mitigating the offenders actions and belittling the victim. Chonky Posted February 4, 2022 Share Posted February 4, 2022 I assume he is trying to take the high ground and talk about forgiving society and rehabilitation etc. I agree there is a difficult conversation to have about what role convicted rapists have in society (as well as murders etc), however, in a public facing role forgiveness and acceptance has to be earned. Goodwillie has done absolutely nothing to move this forward. If anything, he is still dragging it backwards.
