This fact, together with the natural fading of memories, and more importantly, the incessant Ministry of Truth activities by newspapers, pundits and everyone associated with the newco, has had the unfortunate result of obscuring the simple facts of the time: Rangers went bust and a new club was admitted to Division Three to fill the gap.
