The James McClean Sponsored Poppy Thread

Recommended Posts

Noticed Ian Murray on the news wearing an English style poppy without the leaf.

What are the odds of him doing this to look Scottish, not realising the design of the flower is different north and south of the border?

Care to explain why or is that all you have to add?

I think he is suggesting that your post is too sensible for this thread.

What does Deeman work as? A crocodile whisperer?

Don't be silly, where would I get a job like that in Scotland?

I'm a lion tamer.

Aye £14.7K starting salary for a soldier, then £18.3K on full completion of training.
Yep, that's a 'considerable' pay packet, they must be f*ckin living it up on a yacht in the Med for most of the summer!

They're miles under the average U.K. Annual income at present.

Well yes it is. Nearly £1500 a month being paid for a role that in all probability, doesn't actually involve facing combat in the career of an ordinary, Britnat soldier.

For many people with few other chances, the British Army is a wage-paying profession rather than a voluntary service.

I got married on 11th Nov, thought it was appropriate as I'm a bit of a forgetful guy.

No, not really. Some witch fortune teller told the pre-wife that we should get married at;

09:08 11/11/10.   Something to do with lucky numbers, can't see it myself.

But it's always nice that the folk wear a poppy for me back in  the Motherland, you who don't are just heevins.

'Ordinary Britnat Soldier' what does that even mean?
