I went looking through the thread and found the then/now pictures of Glasgow and found this particularly amusing, from 1974 to 2008 with... er, absolutely no difference at all

Apart from the addition of a penthouse on the tall building of course....

That Road Closed sign wasn't there either. You'd be no use at a spot the difference quiz.

Could always double up as tracing paper.

The student hall I lived in had a protest - successful - to achieve an upgrade from this arse-ripping stuff. It was good for the old paper-comb musical combo, though. (Unused.)

I much preferred when Glasgow moved away from that divisive, sectarian, t*m get up to a more inclusive design

RE: News Flashes.

First one I remember was back in 1982 and interrupted my Saturday morning viewing. It was about Harrier Jump jets attacking targets on the Falkland Islands.

The programme interrupted was...

Forgot to post that it was 2000AD and Judge Dredd's 40th birthday just the other week.

Dredd didn't start until Prog 2.

My first issues were about five years later.

There has to be at least one P&Ber who still has a peat fire/range, Shirley?  My auld man was from Sutherland and we'd always help to 'stack the peat' when we visited his brother and maw each summer.

I've got a few big bags of peats in my garage that I use for my fire. Unsure if a 'peat fire' is distinctly different to a coal fire filled with peats though. I usually do half and half, with the peats to add a grand reek to the street to make the neighbours jealous.
