Had surgery today on a trapped nerve in my arm, first experience of proper anaesthetics. Got a crap tattoo into the bargain.

Anyone ever get sore/uncomfortable baws from wearing loose boxers? 
This has been the case for me for as long as I can remember, but it's been taken up a notch recently. Really quite uncomfortable down the back/left side at times, especially if I'm lying down or sitting cross legged. 
Always thought it was normal, but perhaps not now. 

Try removing the chastity lock. I find this helps.

You should go to the doctors about this. My dad had two heart attacks 18 years ago and he thought they were heartburn and made a doctors appointment. When he described his symptoms he was put in an ambulance and when they checked it he found out what had happened. He was in his 60s then and had been a 40 year smoker so obviously different from you (I assume!). He was actually taken into hospital again last week as he had really bad heartburn but after checks they confirmed it was just that.

But heartburn can be mistaken for something else. It’s best to get it checked out and go to the GPs. 

My health moan is that I can’t hear in my right ear. I think I need it syringed but am unsure if they’ll let me in the GPs for that. I have put a couple of drops of olive oil in to see if that has an affect, the side of my bonce is like a Greek salad.

My surgery no longer does it but you have to see a doctor to get a referral - total waste of an appointment.  I went to Boots and bought a syringe, filled basin with fairly hot water and 10 minutes of syringing had cleared the ears without wasting anyone else's' time.

Better buying otex mate. A few applications of that stuff and the wax is fully disolved and removed the need for syringing. Olive oil just leaves your ear stuffy and feeling clatty as f**k, and they tend not to syringe as frequently as they used to, and probably tough to get a f2f atm what with covid.

I also have problems with my ears. I either have water in them or very (very) soft earwax. I used to suffer from ear infections regularly but haven't had one for a few years but I have this water instead.

I'd suggest you go to Boots and get them syringed for circa 50 quid.  Saves waiting months for F2F.

I get these, I broadly they've been described as either palpitations or pre-ventricular or pre-atrial contractions, I think the heartbeat originates in the atrial or ventricle, it's a smaller heartbeat which results in the pause followed by quite a thump for the next heartbeat. 

When this first happened to me I'd been on a two day sesh and thought I'd fucked my heart somehow, went to the docs who referred me to hospital, got an ECG and sent me home. Didn't think much of it until a few years later it basically continually happened, could be periods where it was every other heartbeat was this weird flutter and then a thump. Ended up going to A&E, got a heart monitor for three days and the end results were everything was normal. 

Was told I was stressed and to avoid stimulants, oddly I think the symptom was the cause, after being told it was normal it hardly ever happens now. I avoid caffeine now though. Anyway thought I'd share to try and put your mind at ease. 100% go to the doctors and ask about the heart monitor, it's a pain in the ass, as it's stickers stuck on you for three days, exercise and showering with it are annoying. Worth it for peace of mind or if there is something genuinely wrong.  

 

This is a class thread tbh, anyone know anything about bones in your hands? I have the kind of classic boxers injuries from years of martial arts, more or less missing a ring finger knuckle, my middle finger bone knuckle is enlarged and I've still got slight pain when my hand is squeezed from the last broken metacarpal. Is it worth going to see a hand specialist or just live with it?

I've mentioned this before (I think in response to MixuFruit) but over many years of excessive ear wax production and speaking from personal experience, 6% hydrogen peroxide solution is the answer to this problem. Get a bottle from your local chemist.

I went to the chemist to buy a syringe pack as I’d seen them on Amazon but wanted them now. I asked the person at the till what they had and they said they didn’t have any, they were sorry and offered me other stuff. When I went to pay there was a huge pile of ear cleaning syringe kits on the counter, they were on special offer! I picked one up and the woman said “oh do you want one of those?” Yes, it’s exactly what I asked for you dozy bint,

After a good few syringe-ings all cleared.

I was under the impression - mainly because my fucking Doctor said it to me - that no surgery will syringe your ears anymore as the possibility of damage is too high. 

I've been sent to 2 hospitals had years of appointments at Dr's all kind of nasal spray and ones for my ears and at the end of it got "you've just got over sensitive hearing, lol".

The way it's done has changed, it's now more a gentle irrigation as opposed to the old days where they potentially gave you a lobotomy.  It's a low risk procedure.

In our practice the treatment room nurses syringe on a daily basis.  Your GP was at it.

I've almost bought those kits a few times but they all say "dont use if you have a history of ear infections".

Plus, I have no idea if a syringing will help me or not.

Oh I have a heart thing

Every now and then if I move too fast or suddenly - if I bend down too quickly, start going up the stairs too quickly, start running across the road too quickly (these are the ones that come to mind off-hand) my heart will start beating really quickly and loudly. If it goes on too long I start getting this tense feeling in my neck and the only way to stop it is to sit down and take really long, deep breaths. When I do this it stops about as suddenly as it starts. I'm talking like at least twice as fast when it happens. 

Am I likely to die some time soon?
