What is the point of Labour ?

It's like football management. He didnt get a chance to build his team, covid hit and now he's being judged prematurely. (Jose Mourinho???)

There won't be a GE for a while if he stays or not. Judge him if in the next 6-12 months we still don't know what vision Labour puts out. I'm sceptical he could deliver something inspiring but I'm going to give him a chance to at least have a fair kick at the ball.

Mate the harshest thing I can say about this post is that it genuinely sounds like the kind of football analogy that Keir Starmer would use.

The amount of times I heard "the left of the Labour party" on the news today should tell you how fucked the party is and politics in the UK in general.

There was a 'Right' in the Communist Party of the Soviet Union of the 1920s and they were hardly mealy-mouthed liberals tbh.

"For the party as a whole, we're just going to have to put our foot on the ball. I'm not going to throw in the towel just because of one bad result, and I'm going to remain leader of the Labour Party until the final whistle blows for this Conservative government. I still firmly believe that we should give Boris a red card for his own goal over not just his illicit flat renovation, but his mishandling of the Coronavirus crisis."

did a bit of a garry o'connor face just typing that out tbh

A bit like how the right-wing Labourites prefer to be known as “moderates”, to help normalise backdoor Toryism as the party norm.

A Labour MP putting out a statement that could easily pass for Littlejohn, Phillips, Liddle or O'Neil.

It's clearly a stage managed attempt to pull Starmer further right and close down any left critiques but it's still fucking pathetic.

Dodds is tragic so that one's been a long time coming. Completely ineffectual and just lacks any sort of profile.

Rayner will cause problems as she's popular within the party albeit I've never really understood why. Comes across as not very intelligent.

Rumours more will be punted or will resign shortly too.
