People from working class towns and cities in Scotland who had their industries and communities destroyed by the Tories over a couple of decades who now vote for the fucking scumbags because 'no surrender'.

Evolution destroyed the industries.

South Korea is a prosperous country that still has a thriving steel and ship building industry, coal mining's in decline recently but that's because they've dug nearly all of it up. Politics destroyed our heavy industry.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea is the largest shipyard in the world.

I went there once a long time ago.

Not so much just politics as economics, although politics certainly did no favors. In the post-war era, the slow reduction of efficiency (as calculated by cost per equivalent unit) was somewhat masked. As the post-war replacement boom hit home, the nationalization of the builders hit its stride, with prices increased further as a result. The change to welding over riveting rendered huge portions of the UK shipbuilding infrastructure as costly white elephants, the work force as I’ll-trained, and the cost of steel in newer locations was lower due, again, to more efficient infrastructure and labour. Thus inefficiency of the builders in the UK, combined with the denationalization that followed, was the final nail.

If only Maggie had a Mig Welder.

Nah, she needed to learn SAW (submerged arc welding). The complete destruction of the existent Japanese shipbuilding industry in WWII, and the damage inflicted on the Korean industry in the 50’s, directly allowed the industries in those countries to rebuild in an efficient manner, with an eye toward modern welding techniques and steel production. Maybe if Maggie had really carpet-bombed the Clyde and the Tyne, rather than the slow economic carpet-bombing she inflicted, there might be an industry there now.

To quote Frankie Boyle....

Thats just it they claimed “no” but I think differently it started with the huge protest at the grand national and the aim of the protest was to stop holding events such as the grand national as they believed too many horses got injured/killed during them but now there seems to be smaller protests jotted all over the place at various different meetings.Tbh ultimately I think they’ll get to a point they try and get horse racing banned altogether. If they are going down that avenue it’ll probably be greyhound racing next.

If they want to disrupt the dogs, fling a real rabbit on.

Jeremy Vine show is on at work and the subject is sewage in English waters.

They interviewed some women on one such beach (could just have easily been men).

"Oh we swim in here all the time. This report won't stop us".

The mind-boggling stupidity of some human beings never ceases to amaze
