SOD would be a good signing for us, and at the very least he can make a good Empire biscuit as @thisGRAEME found out.

I see we're also linked with Greg Stewart. Again a top Premiership player but I am worried at the cost involved in these signings.

Stephen O'Donnell -  Free Transfer, but will cost a lot in wages.
Stuart Findlay -  will cost around £400-500k. One Year Left on current deal
Kevin Nisbet - will cost around £500k - maybe less if Dunfermline are cash strapped.
Greg Stewart - will cost at least £500k but will also cost at least £4k a week in wages.

We're looking at an extra £1.5m on transfer fees, implying that the expectation is for a top 3 Finish. Considering the club made a big loss last year, can we afford to do it again?

Absolute bonkers!

If our owners spend £500k on any player, they need their heads testing.

Can anyone even remember the last time we spent a six-figure sum on a player, and it worked out well?

ps - I think Johnny Russell is pocketing £27k a week

Are you only wanting to buy one of his feet?

No idea how I missed that list of "targets".

United may have attracted Shankland, by spunking an Old Firm wage at him, but folk like O'Donnell and Findlay are likely to want an actual increase in level from a top six side, so United have literally no appeal.

Greg Stewart? Hes already shown he'll do anything for a few bob.

Apart from paying them a lot more money than what they are on currently..

Has he? He moved to Aberdeen as they were a bigger club than Kilmarnock.

He then moved to Rangers as he's a Rangers fan.

Where in his career has he proven he'd do "anything for a few bob"?

A lot more? Are United fans seriously thinking that their board are going to spend silly money when football returns?

Which they will also get in League One down South.

You forgot Shanklands reputation before that one season with Ayr put many clubs off paying what you did. Players proven at higher levels dont have that issue.
